You would have to build a caged root system. That means deeper tanks but it could be done. The thing is, in my view, you are limiting the area and amount you could grow as far as vegetables. If you aren't interested in eating the fish and growing a lot of veggies then a fish tank system could be workable. But for a larger system tank and separate grow areas are the best option.

The only time I can think of using a raft IN the tank is when/if you want more surface area to grow azolla or duckweed to SUPPLEMENT the fish diet. Take a raft, cut out a frame, take another raft, cut out the same size frame, then glue/silicone them together with a net between the two (being sure to create a pocket) to keep the fish out of said raft. I said "supplement" their diet, not as a feed source. Don't hurt me guys...🤣
