It's getting to the point that Combo Breaker has surpassed Evo as best FG tournament. They play all the games, not just the 5 or 6 currently popular ones.
Old 2D games always age better than old 3D games. Sega were also masters of tech being ahead of its time, the Virtua Fighter series amongst others really blew you away too when you consider how much older those games are also and that there was nothing else out there anywhere near them at the point of their release. You'd be lucky if a new Capcom vs SNK crossover would be anywhere near as good as this today if recent fighters are anything to go by. Today's fighters (2D and 3D) just lack the 90's and 00's X factor, they've been progressively declining ever since.
I'm promoting this game like an apostle, in a world in which all pre 30YO noobs know now is crappy hacked OG KOF 2002, and all they do is button mashing. - PD, i'm kinda seriously sick of OG KOF2002. -

I think CvS2 is just slightly better than 3S. It's more diverse. There's some hype in there, but there's also some chill stuff like the windmill stage.
Beautiful stages, amazing characters, cool BGM, the fact that are 6 different types of Meter and all of them gives you the chance to do different combos and strategies, man... what a game!
Very good looking game. My only slight gripe with it, is that the Blanka sprite, ripped from Street Fighter Alpha 3, looks absolutely rubbish. The only rubbish character model in the entire game in my opinion and he's one of my favourite characters. Even his SF2 iteration looked better. Don't know what Capcom were thinking to be honest.
@@lvag741 it’s probably best you play this on the Dreamcast or PS2 version if not actual hardware/arcade, to my knowledge. Thankfully there’s Brook converters too
Just repeating what the guys say, great representation of all Grooves. And MAJOR props to the commentary team, adds so much to viewers when the guys actually know what they're talking about. Man, JWong's Vega looks like a total pain to play against... Too bad stupid pandemic cancelled the next tourney :(
Because most of the SNK characters are inferior unfortunately. Pretty much all the top tier characters are Capcom characters... Very few of the SNK crew can hang. Notable exceptions are maybe Hibiki, Iori, and Geese.
If anyone says that they "cant play fighting games because they are too complicated" show them Wong walking back and forth dominating space with single normals.
I don’t really care for Dr. B but the commentators were being rather rude. Especially from an older game community you would expect more respect to the players for still working on their play to keep the game alive.
Damn everything good for a first time after many years! Different character select, great players!! Well maybe not everyone but other then jwong everyone gives yeah im going to have fun not boring you and myself to dead and its great commentators awesome thx its nice to watch it
I REALLY love this fighter! An all time favorite and makes me hella nostalgic. I don’t even remember why or how I got this way back when. But I just bought it again a few days ago. Can’t wait for it to arrive!
keep it lit 925 Played the hell out of this and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 back in the day. I actually burned through a few CDs just from the hours I played. Couldn’t afford to buy MvC 2 again when the discs went for a few hundred dollars back in the day.
@@antonterry9015 people who actually give a shit about this game like trying to help people who might not know the finer details about what exactly is happening, the commentary did a great job of respecting the normal fighting game fan's intelligence while also explaining some stuff that's unique or close-to-unique in CvS2, it was good shit
kinda fucked up that they didn’t stop the match where justin told the japanese guy he couldnt change his team order but they looked it up and saw you actually can.
They need to go back to making 2d fighting games. Theyre just awesome. Marvel Vs Capcom, Capcom Vs SNK, KOF, Street Fighter 1 all the way through to 3 all have stood the test of time. People are still to this day playing them. Please Capcom and SNK make another 2d fighter game.
@@jonashworth9757 If you are deluded to think this game is more refined, more balanced, more technical and has more depth and complexity than Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution then you're simply making a subjective statement. This game is the epitome of an over-simplified fighting game. While I still play this game I do profess that it does not suffer any real performance-related issues, I can also attest; having and playing both that it pales in comparison in every objective category in comparison to Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution.
When sf2 was brought to the west, some characters had their names changed due to legal reasons. The boxer was m bison in The east, and changed to balrog in the west. The dictator went from Vega in the east to m bison in the west, and the claw weilding character went from balrog in the east to Vega in the west. Because of this, they're referred to as boxer, dictator, and claw in tournaments.
I love unorthodox fighters so Dr. B is my dude. With that said: 1:39:20 *PAINT PAINT PAINT PAINT PAINT PAINT PAINT* was the best moment. I watched this while high and I fucking died lol
