I'm assuming the interpreter has to take a bunch of shortcuts to keep up with the speaking speed, but so interesting if anyone knows if he's actually signing the names of the cards! Imagine needing to know "Cryptolith Rite", "Urza's Bauble", and "Emry, Lurker of the Loch" in ASL!
@@dadude2140 interpreters typically spell out the names of the cards with the English alphabet through "fingerspelling". (You can learn fingerspelling too - there's plenty of RU-vid videos to learn from.) However, if the name of the card contains a word that can be signed, they'll often do that instead! For example, they'd probably sign A V A C Y N O F
This is the first magic video I've seen that includes someone who is hard of hearing. Fantastic game, and fantastic job showing that Magic is a game that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of circumstances.
Great setup for a game and so cool to see how ASL fits seemlessly into the video too. First time I saw someone hearing impaired playing a MtG game on YT. Hopefully many more will follow suit.
@@CommanderSpellbook My first true combo deck was built around Ranar the Everwatchful. It used to have tons of combos, but got a (probably very wise) edit that removed most of them. I found, submitted, and got approved the Ranar + Portcullis combo. I was thrilled. Thanks again for the amazing site.
Really cool game idea. I'm assuming there is a way to choose how many colors/cards for these random combos? Some were way more complicated than others in the intro. Great setup though 👌
Glad you enjoyed it! If we do this again (and I'm hoping we do!), we'll have more controls in place to make the combos more on the same power level and requirements to pull off!
New mtg player here.I am happy that I found this channel , I can learn more about mtg with closed captions. Super happy that this channel included BJ and asl interpreter. Subscribed this channel. Hopefully , see more videos involving BJ in the future!
I'm all for having a nice long video, and keeping it entertaining, but was there a reason Carlos didn't search for Sensei's Divining Top at 23:40 and just draw until he hit's his infinite mana combo?
another fun combo I found with Raggadragga was Raggadragga + any manadork that taps for the amount of power it is, there are about 4 or 5 of those, Marwyn being one of them and the last card is spine of ish sah, which costs 7, which is the magical number and when it etbs it destroys target permanent, you will have it target itself and it will go to the graveyard and once it does that it goes back to your hand, you will then rinse and repeat this until you mana dork in finitely large and it has trample and it can just kill someone, if you have several of these out, all of them are infinitely large and have trample. so some of these manadorks are: Marwyn the nurturer, Viridian joiner, Heronblade Elite and Alena, kessig trapper, once your dork is infinitely large she taps for that much too. there are probably others, but those are what I have in my deck.
I feel like the game couldve been different bc doesnt emery make things cost one less too and then atraxa shouldve polifetaited the kaya once more 🤔🤔 besides that good game
Hello! I'm an aspiring MTG content creator and I was wondering if the channel could answer some questions I have regarding your filming set up. What's a good way to reach out via DMs? Other wise, I can ask my questions here for other curious audience members.
@@KingdomsTV 1. What overhead rigging system are you using for your camera(s)? 2. What camera(s) are you using for your overhead footage? If you are using a camera that uses a lens, what lens are you using? 3. What microphone are you using to capture audio for commander games? Is that microphone being routed to the camera, or is audio being captured separately from footage? 4. Do you use a direct monitor for audio/video while recording? If so what monitor do you use? Thank you for your time in answering my questions!
