Highlighting my nearly 10 years experience using the large sports cards consignment company COMC, check out my cards. Explaining what I believe to be the Pros & Cons
Just a clarification: There is a standard 5% sales fee for all sales that they take out at time of sale. During a promotion it’s not an extra 5% on top of that. Just an extra 1%. Thanks for watching everyone 🙌
The amount of fees are annoying, but overall I like comc. One thing I find annoying are abandoned accounts, sometimes I make an offer on a card and it goes without a response until it expires. Or people who listed a bunch of cards during the peak and now all their cards are ridiculously over priced, and they have that one card you've been searching for that's worth about $20 but they're asking $80 and they don't respond to offers.
I agree, and know exactly what you’re talking about. The boom sellers that haven’t adjusted their prices since the peak 😬 Overall I like them too, just unhappy with the standard submission turnaround time 👍 Thanks for watching!
Heads up, the fee for running a sale promotion is just an additional 1% on top of the standard 5% that applies to ALL sales. Not an extra 5%. I really like COMC. During the pandemic, I moved my 1000-card Ebay store onto COMC. Haven’t looked back to Ebay since. The selling fees (when added all up) are equivalent to Ebay. The huge plus is that I don’t house the items and I don’t spend time packaging and shipping each individual sale. More time for sourcing locally as well as on the site. I’ve been able to scale my card business on COMC to over 20k listings at a little over $200k in listed inventory. I don’t think I could manage this type of inventory, if I had to do all the packing and shipping.
Thanks for the heads up 🙌 That means I forgot to mention the 5% standard sale fee for all sales 🤪 So if you’re wanting to cash out overall, it’s essentially 15% of the sale price they take off the top, correct? (10% cash out fee, 5% sale fee) plus the flat fee to list the card. I’m also a fan of COMC too 👍 Just wanted to get some knowledge out there for people that haven’t used them. I definitely should have got the 1% sale info correct, I’ll make a statement in the comments 👌
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 as a buyer I don’t have much experience with comc I only wish you could make offers with it. The selection is so much but the prices are outdated a good portion of the time so I feel like that limits how much I buy.
I did the same thing when Kobe died. I watched COMC as cards were quickly snapped up and repriced. I refused to buy his cards even when seeing this happen as I'm not going to profit off another man's tragic death just for some quick money. Don't want that bad karma hanging over me.
@@arshanaidun1663 me too! If I ever open an actual local card shop, I’ll make an announcement for people on here 🙌 For now, they’re all sleeved up and boxed up
