China's vegetable production is 4.5 times bigger than India which ranking 2nd production country in the world, and 17 times bigger than the US, the 3rd production country.
I love grocery shopping in every country I travel to, especially back home in China. There are just endless selections of foods, which make you homesick the most.

So many Westerners in China now, its great to add China to the vacation possibilities. I love the huge vegetable and seafood selection. I was surprised to see edible jellyfish, i would love to try it. This was interesting having a look around food area.
The veggie and seafood options is definitely the highlight of the grocery stores here. I love it so much. You should try it. I enjoyed jellyfish way more than I expected 😊
@thevoiceoftaiwan cooking at home is way cheaper. Always eating takeout is also unhealthy and you can't control how much sodium and oil you'll be consuming
Pig feet were usually stew in Chinese cooking and they are delicious! There is lots of lean meat in the feet just eat the lean meat which is succulent & flavourful!
@@jiayiandjulieinchina Pig feet and chicken feet used to be more food for women because they contain a large amount of collagen, which helps maintain skin health. In fact, pig feet do not have much fat, they are just skin collagen. Don't believe that cosmetics can supplement collagen, it's better to have a bowl of pig foot soup.
Do you guys have any plans doing a trip video in different parts of China, e.g. Dongbei, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet, Yunan, Hainan. I noticed that most people settle in the eastern coast because economic opportunities, but the outer rims don't get much attention.
@@jiayiandjulieinchina There was once a Canadian RU-vid who promised to eat all of Sichuan Province in a month, but it took him 5 years to leave Sichuan~. I believe this story will be helpful to you😂
Wow. Thanks for sharing. I'm moving to China soon and am most interested in the grocery store 😂 Crazy to see the amount of variety there....very overwhelming but nice
when i was travelling @ Scandinavia, i find the chips scene is so sad.... especially Norway.... I haven't checked out Denmark yet as I only stayed there less than a day.... if you love chips, Australia is your destination
As a western i would recommend buy your own breadbaker or airfryer if you don't have a oven, because finding non sweet western bread is difficult. Luckily the yeast is cheap and you get a full bag of it. Dry yeast is good enough, chinese wheat flour is cheap as the west. Just mix the wheat flour with water untill its a bit sticky (In china you use bottle water, not tap water). when its sticky mix some yeast into it, add some more wheat flour to knead. At the very last moment add a pinch of salt to it not more than 1 or 2 gr of the total weight of the dough. Never mix salt directly with yeast, because yeast is a living organism and it will die off when contact with yeast. knead it horizontal, turn sideways and knead again. Do this process for more than 5 minutes, carefully tuck the top sides to the bottom of the dough to make a round circle ball. Let it rest in a plastic container with a cloth over it to prevent it from drying, for about 1 to 3 hours depending on how warm the environment is. After 1 to 3 hours if you see the dough soft and risen, take it out and press it to take make it flat again, this time just knead 1 time to a circle ball again and let it rest in plastic container with cloth over it for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes this circle ball dough you either carefully put it in oven or make it flat to make pizza. I know its a lot of info, but i studied bread and pastry in the past. so making your own bread its not that difficult. The best part is you can either put the dough in refrigerator for about 1 day or freeze it for couple of weeks. Freezing is not that fresh, but its still good and tastier than your frozen store bought pizza.
Hi guys, enjoy your outings from you flat background. Please show more of your hometown in China. Maybe Julie can add / showcase her mandarin language skills. Noticed she said northeastern tiger referring to her cat. Keep up the good work and more vlog
If you think a durian is stinky, then you need to accustomize your smell sense to it by having a durian in your house so you smell it everyday for a couple or few months until your brain re-wires itself to be able to distinctly identify the smell of a durian. Then you will see the light of what a durian really smells like, and you will not be able to stop eating durians because it is that good.
@@jiayiandjulieinchina I just make sure that I exercise enough that I don't worry about what and how much I eat. But the one thing I would avoid an excess of is sugar and caffeine.
Unfortunately there are so many of them that are closing because they just can't compete with the online market, that goes for malls and other shops too
Rice and grsin liquers are more common. Grapes were not cultivated in China, so wines are more rare. Liimitec supplies of certain western products are normal, as there's no demand, so prices are higher naturally.
I recently got a suggestion for your channel on RU-vid. I have checked out most of your recent videos. I must say: great, genuine content! I live in LA and currently in nursing school. I promise to travel to Denmark to find a wife as soon as I graduate! Any advice?:) Great looking couple, btw.😇

I saw your video on the cruelty of Japanese per ww2. I just learned March 28th is the Tibet slavery emancipation date. Those offsprings of Dali Lama and ruling cohorts’ slaves celebrate this day in Xizang (Tibet). Why not cover it?
@@jiayiandjulieinchina maybe you should do a little research you might actually learn something!!! Or you're probably a commie or a Democrat ( same difference) and no they don't produce a lot of food!!! They can't even feed their own people!!
China M2 Money supply 300 trillion, the highest in human history. All those magnificent structures are not sustainable. They need to hire many cheap workers who are earning us$300 a month to maintain. And also, those management staff, technical workers are very cheap too. If those people have choice, would they continue to work like that for lifetime?
The basic salary of an ordinary clothing store teller in Urumqi, Xinjiang is more than US$700. What normal profession has a monthly salary of only $300? Even the monthly salary in electronics factories is basically around US$1,000.
@@天可汗-o5m what's logic? you try to use an exceptional case to disprove general things? Of course, those cleaners that clean Xi Jing Ping bedroom can earn us$10000 per month
