Come Follow Me Helaman 7-12 (Aug. 24-30) 

I am am 80 year old crippled man. I am so sad 2020 is bad for you, this is one of my best years ever.

I know this may not hold the same weight for others as it did to me but ill share anyway. Yesterday at the end of my school day with only 2 days before school starts for kindergarteners i was made aware that my class of 18 would now be a class of 31. I was basically on course to be ready for them and this threw many monkey wrenches to my calm calculated plan. I growled, said some things (not cussing) that helped me get it out and then my partner teacher calmly said. Let's go see what we have. ( this was my online class and all the materials needed to be sent home asap many of which needed to come from another school.) We started looking at extras we had printed of the general things and discovered we had exactly the number we needed to give each child one (MIRACLE) I spoke with my principal and my partner teacher and I worked for 2.1/2 more hours making more copies, gathering, making various things i needed them to have. When we finally left the school at 6pm I felt the comfort through the spirit telling me I could do this. This morning additional truths keep being spoken to my mind. It's amazing how god really does have us in his care. Even when we feel like no one sees or understands God sees us and lifts us up. JESUS really did descend below all things and he knows how to help us.

Thank you for mentioning that for some people the path of life is being mapped out. I was taken out of Kivu - DRC when I was 7, to later embrace the Gospel (until today that Gospel is not in my native region) And this because I would be raising missionaries in Eu, and because I would raise large numbers from pre-existence through the vail to the temple etc.. Without the hand of my Father, this sacred path would have remained untouched in my life . ....Yes, if you don't who will?? Greetings from Belgium (Google translate; ) )

I enjoyed your comments about “going with the flow,” and they reminded me of a quote by Malcom Muggeridge: “Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream.”

I love the way you two work together so well with such enthusiasm but not dominating each other, it's tricky but you do a good job!

It's your testimonies of how God has worked in your life, and your knowledge of how God works in the life of the people in the scriptures that has helped me see Him working in me. It makes me think, Why can't I, shouldn't I, wouldn't I, bear testimony of this to others!? Thank you for all you do!

One thing that stood out to me is in chapter 9:38 it states that *the five were set at liberty". I'm sure that liberty also could imply that they were free from the bonds of the old beliefs and wicked desires. I wonder what I need to be liberated from in my life?

Don't you just feel totally important, though? I mean, after you start to recognize God's hand in so many aspects of your life and when He's answered your prayers, even if it took a while... but you look back and realize just how well he's answered them.... for me, I feel important. You know, to Him. That if I ask for something it really WILL be given. Maybe not right away, but eventually. And then it's like my eyes are opening to how much he genuinely cares about all of us, each, individually and loves us.

Thanks as always for your insight! I needed those reminders that God is using the challenges to teach and mold us.

I went on the virtual tour 2 nights ago and it was so cool! I learned so much! And I could feel how peaceful it was in the Sacred Grove THROUGH THE ZOOM SCREEN😊 I felt like I was there. It was really special. And the sister missionaries there are the absolute sweetest!

The part where one group wonders where the five are and the other said they also have five guys... always cracks me up!!!!! Of course that couldn’t be a coincidence! Lol

4 years later. Still the Gospel of Christ.

Just those words "You are Nephi and I am God." Shows that God is aware of each of us. He was aware of Nephi, so why not us?

I do miss embracing my family, but find happiness in these times. Studying the Come Follow Me Program, scriptures, conference talks, and reading information in footnotes. Enjoy making quilts and listening to hymns. Grateful I have the sacrament in my home until we can go back to church. I want to be prepared for what is next in our time, therefore I read scriptures and ponder. What a blessing to have this time away from the distractions of the world.

You guys how I appreciated and needed to hear what you said in this section. You reminded me of the power of Christ and the gospel. I am a convert of 4 years and it's sometimes a head trip. Your words heightened my faith. Thank you!! ❤️

Oh I’m so glad you mentioned those tours! My kids and grandkids and I have done 2 already! They are so wonderful! Lol...California had some rare fire tornadoes (with small bolts of lightening) this past weekend. ..now I have to tell you that looked like a sign of the times!

I want a garden tower!

I love the Why Not Me phrase. Every year our family, instead of doing New Year resolutions, we pick a phrase that will be our theme for the year. So I am considering Why Not Me as a family theme. Side note, this year our theme is Find Your Why? So on a chalkboard in my breakfast nook I wrote 2020 Why, to remind us about our theme. Now I look at that chalkboard and all I can think about is 2020 why ???. It's been a hard year. Lol

Nephi's days were sorrowful, but his son (Nephi) will see the Savior come. KInd of awesome to think what our days might lead to for our children.

When speaking about marketplaces empty of food it’s because we’ve become dependents on mega grocery chains and not been living self reliance. We’re only suffering the consequences of our choices to not support community agriculture and not doing canning and preserving over the winters. President Benson counseled us to engage in co-operative living, community supported farms, etc. Our neighbor farmers are getting hammered because of the big farms are running the policy being dictated and we’re not handing together to help them.

David, I really enjoy this show and it's so informative and makes you really think about our own lives and how we relate to daily events in our own lives. Super! I, however, have one critique...you use the word RAD a LOT...lol. Great job you both do in delivering the message of salvation. Love you both.

Today if the garden is by the freeway the cars would have made it so no one could her because of cars and trucks along with motorcycles.

Funny how they don't believe in God but yet in Chapter 9:8 they do believe that God made the men fall and stay there so that they could take them to prison.
