Your story of the Grandmother upset about not being able to go to the temple to see her granddaughter married was OUTSTANDING. I was a convert in college and when I married in the Seattle temple my parents were deeply upset about not being able to go. I wish I could have asked them these questions that you asked this grandmother. You were so sweet with not condemning, not making her feel unworthy but examining her own religious thoughts. Thank you for your stories - it's the gospel in action and we all need more examples.

Brother Halverson, thank you for the analogy of how easy it is for us to fall into judgement of others, and how we dont see it in our personal life. When you taught that, I realize" I stand accused and guilty. it was a great reminder for me to be more mindful and understanding of looking at others of our Heavenly Fathers children, our brothers and sisters, that they are struggling in their trails and challenges and how we need to be more sensitive. thank you for your wonderful lessons

Thank you, brother Halverson, for your lessons and the time and effort you put into these videos. I have had many questions answered and have learned many new things. In this particular lesson and your comments on eternal marriage have been a balm to my soul. I have been separated from my eternal mate for a time as he has been called home, and how I miss him. But I know that I will see him again and that our marriage is an eternal one, one that I am thankful for every day. I am grateful for your insight and the videos that you do. What a wonderful time to be alive and have the gospel so readily available to us, and that we can learn and grow in the gospel by sharing with one another. Thank you for sharing your testimony and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I do a solo study of Come Follow Me and your teaching is music to my ears. I love listening to you explain what I have read so many times yet did not comprehend. I especially loved this last lesson, verses Hel 12:23-25. It may me weep because I know my Heavenly Father loves me and could feel this during this lesson. He wants me home, and His grace is unending if I but accept it. Thank you so much for these lessons.

Another wonder lesson! I recommend your videos to everyone I know 😆 So insightful and filled with the Spirit. After your lessons I have that desire I had when I first joined the Church in 1998 to go and read the scriptures and learn new things, to write down important thoughts and to share them with others. It has been a while since I felt this way. So grateful for your time and effort in teaching us. Please continue, you have a gift from above to do it. Thank you!

Hi Jared, I love how the Spirit’s impressions are so powerful as I listen to your teaching. Today I learned that We will, do, and have, encountered trials from many different sources. In seeing these trials in so many people lives I have always felt powerless in helping these brothers and sisters. As I thought about praying for them, I have always felt that God’s will would always be done in their lives, and that my pleadings were minuscule to what his plan was for them.... maybe they would continue to suffer for reasons that were his. I don’t know. But as I ponder the things you shared about the the Savior having those with him that added faith to raising that little girl, (not that he needed their faith, but they needed that faith) and Nephi’s faith that the Lord would end the Famine, and his pleading that it be so. I ponder the Daunting task that President Nelson has asked the youth to pray that all of our Brothers and sisters on the earth will hear the words of the gospel and come unto the Lord. I am now understanding that each of us together need that faith to do our part, in giving our hearts to him. and in asking as Nephi did (because Nephi as a mortal man had no power to stop the famine) in faith asking the Lord to perform his work. And somewhere in the middle we contribute however small to help. We grow. So I now know that I can ask in faith for things I cannot change, but having that hope to see his work move forth, and add hope and courage that suffering subside and the feelings of the Lords Love abound no matter the circumstance. I hope I haven’t rambled too much. It is clear in my mind. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for expressing these thoughts Brother Brown. I have also wondered how to pray for people to change or be enlightened when I know it is up to them and God's will. How to pray for them? You have given words to my questioning mind. May our faith support God's will.

As I was reading this week's Come Follow Me, I thought about how Nephi had been told that his calling and election was sure. After which , he was able to be taken by the spirit to-and-fro different places. I started to wonder if perhaps and he had been translated in the process. Remember, he left the Nephites never to be seen again.

I am very grateful for your videos! Thank u for your testimony & knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a question & I hope that u have time to please answer. I have a friend who is reading a anti-mormon book "CES Letter" & is believing what is being said. In one of your videos u spoke abt reading anti-mormon work. I don't want to read it, but I would like to know how to counter what she is reading abt Joseph Smith & polygamy & Book of Mormon just being put together by what others have written, etc. The guy who wrote it used to be a Bishop. Allow that desire to be Obedient to the law of Chastity lead you in prayer for help and in your search for strength to overcome those feelings. And don’t beat yourself up each time you fall. Use that as determination to keep moving forward. With a desire to change and repent the Lord will help you.

@@benjaminbrown1554 Thank you. I struggle with desires ....I made a list of 100 reasons why I could desire good in my life to overcome evil. I need to start reading them again. As I focus on them..the scale gets heavier on the good side. Prayer is a definite place to start. We need to ask for His help. :)

There is a 12 step program that the church offers that focuses on the Savior to help us overcome that which is unmanageable in our lives. I have things in my life that are unmanageable, we all do but most of us don't realize. Ask one of the church leaders about the program.
@valoriegray2859
@valoriegray2859 4 года назад
I am a member of the church, and this has always puzzled me. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints builds its reputation on family unity. They encourage everyone to do they family history, and to be there for their families. But when it comes to a convert marrying a member; that convert's family is pushed out of the marriage bonding. I wonder if you know that Joseph Smith attended weddings one night, and sealed the couple the next day in the temple. If the church is willing to push half of someone's family out of the wedding ceremony, it makes me realize why people hate our church so much. Weddings are meant to bring two families together; not tear them apart.
@nataly140
@nataly140 4 года назад
It is not the church, it is the way God commanded. My parents are not members, I am a convert to the church. When I was getting married in Salt Lake Temple, my parents could not attend, in addition, they were on the other side of the planet Earth. Put God first in everything, I respect and love my parents but my salvation is more important, hope it doesn't sound too harsh and it make sense.

Jesus Christ was to be born "at Jerusalem" according to Alma 7:10. However, the Bible says He was born at Bethlehem (Micah 5:2, Luke 2:4). Helaman 14:20, 27 says that darkness covered the whole earth for 3 DAYS at Jesus' death. Matt. 27:45, Mark 15:33, and Luke 23:44 says it was 3 HOURS. According to Alma 46:15, believers are called Christians in 73 BC. However, Acts 11:26 says that they were first called Christians at Antioch (about 42 AD). Helaman 12:25-25 says, "we read…" and quotes John 5:29. Helaman was supposedly written in 6 BC, according to the date given in the B. of M. The book of John was written nearly 100 years after 6 BC. How could Helaman quote John and even use the 1611 King James Version to do it? Obviously, someone living after the 1611 King James Version was written wrote Helaman. (Joseph Smith)

You are obviously allowed to read the scriptures looking for discrepancies, and I don't mean to be contentious, but stuff like this isn't going to change anyone's mind. Each of these points have lots of possible simple explanations, and if we don't know which one is true, it really doesn't matter. You can stack up thousands of strange coincidences and unlikely phrasings in any history of the world written by anyone, because that's what history is. If history always went "everything went as you'd expect it to" then it wouldn't be worth writing about in the first place. You can take the odd, unexpected things and learn from them, or you can assume they mean everything is a lie. That's the choice you get. A logical proof that the Book of Mormon or the Church's teachings are internally inconsistent is something you simply won't find. But in any case, no one ever claimed that the proof of the Book of Mormon is found by fact-checking every single word. The proof of the Book of Mormon is found in prayer and communication with God.

@@michaelleue7594 And this I know, because the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell; yea, and he has also said that the righteous shall sit down in his kingdom, to go no more out; but their garments should be made white through the blood of the Lamb. CONTRADICTS D&C 130:3, "The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man's heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false."
