We have a daughter who has been on drugs for 25 years and the mental and emotional suffering us parents feel seem endless and forever. However I feel sustained by these podcasts, fasting and prayer as well as temple worship. Thank you for your help and support though you don’t know us personally.

Thank you for sharing your story. You’re amazing. Your daughter is in God’s hands because you work to put her there. I did a plethora of bad things as a teen & adult. Many years after I returned to the gospel. I began thinking about the danger I had put myself in many times. The thought came to me, how did I not die? The Spirit whispered, a mother’s prayers. I realized my mom’s prayers were what kept me safe and helped me to overcome where I had put myself in. Your prayers have strength, for her. Don’t give up. As Taylor said God is working to help her, even though we don’t see how it will all work out. He does, and that’s all that matters.

Dear Tyler and Taylor, I woke up this morning with a terrible nightmare. I have shared that a daughter of mine went missing 3 yrs ago and is presumed dead. My dream was so vivid and troubling and I woke up full of despair because I have no closure. Today your message gave me such comfort reminding me that I know my redeemer lives. I know he knows where my Heather is. I know Father is aware of my circumstances and loves me and Heather. Faith and hope are my anchors. Tyler the video of your son reached all the way to my mother heart. I love you two brothers and look forward to spending time with you each week and more. This message of the story of Job is humbling and such a great lesson for each of us. Thank you again... ❤️

Deborah, yes always hang on to your hope. My very dear friend's daughter disappeared at the age of five months. It was anguishing of course. The hardest part for her mother heart was not knowing if her daughter was dead or alive. Deborah, the Lord intervened, had always watched over her little one, and in a miraculous way her daughter was unexpectedly found and returned to her almost seven years later. Never, ever give up hope. Whether in this life or the next, your beloved Heather is alive and your faith will indeed eventually be rewarded in the Lord's loving timing , as was hers, and your heart be filled with rejoicing. May God bless you always, and I will remember you in my prayers.

I wanted to comment on the subject of health. I am 34 years old, have had MS for 20 plus years. I was diagnosed 13 years ago and it’s definitely made a HUGE change in my life. However, I was thinking about all the things I did in my youth while also still having the disease. I was unstoppable and an overachiever but as I contemplated all the things I did while not knowing I had MS, I was unstoppable. I wouldn’t trade my life and I’m a better person with MS.

T&T Brothers, What a inspirational and moving way to end the Podcast with Ben playing this hymn in a great setting. I really appreciate Elder Renlund's quote, "Infuriating Unfairness" but D&C 121:7-8,10 puts it all into perspective. Why do bad things happen to good people? We remember Job in Job 23:10, "He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath TRIED me, I shall come forth as gold." God has a plan and a purpose for all of us, TRUST HIM then he will exalt us from on high: thou shall triumph over all thy foes!!

Oh how I love the scriptures, CFM and the Lord. These lessons are beautiful gentle tokens of hope and encouragement. I know I can carry on and move forward with faith when I hear these beautiful words. This really made me reflect on my trials and the trials of my loved ones. As hard as the trials are, j just keep thinking there is something I am meant to learn that I probably would not have learnt any other way. I try to see trials as part of our eternal development. I love what Bro Griffin said about answering the question of suffering in the context of the atonement. When we look at this question with a natural man mindset, it's unfair and questions arise like 'why am I being punished?' But if I look at this question with the perspective of the atonement, I have deeper understanding and more patience. I love what was said about Job's friends and the story of President Kimball. Thank you for sharing this. I agree, most times just being present is all that is needed. I will train my mind more to just be present and to be quiet and not offer any solutions in those instances. I have a new appreciation for Job and the Lord. Always whenever I learn something new about the Lord I am amazed. Alot of times I smile at the heavens and say 'I knew it Lord, I knew you could do that, I just knew that about you'. I love what Bro Halverson said about the Lord being the same today as he was and is in the scriptures. CFM has been a huge help in assisting me to mentally close the gap on the God of ancient times to the God of today. To me he is one and the same, it took time for me to see this. I feel so happy that the God who walked with all the ancient Prophets walks with me today. This was also a deep and profound presentation about the living Christ. The words of the song are not just lyrics I sing, it is a statement and truth imprinted on my heart. I too know that my Redeemer lives from one end of the universe to the other, and through all the forevers. I really enjoyed the music at the end. It was such a beautiful touch to an amazing lesson. Benjamin is a beautiful piano player. I am going to add the song to my spiritual music playlist. Thank you guys, you are all absolutely beautiful ❤️.

Thank you so much for these awesome teachings! D&C 84:88 give me strenghth and comfort in my times of sorrow and affliction. Together with D&C 6:36 which help me to see my eternal pespective, back in the presence of my heavenly Father. I have these verses with me on a piece of paper. So when it's time again to "buckle up" I know I'm not alone and I can do this with God's help. Just one day at a time, one day at a time...! Thank you both for your time, effort and love!❤❤

It should be noted that - in the LdS scheme of things, anyway - Job ends up with twice as many children as he started. Half of them here in mortality, and half who were waiting for him in the Spirit World. Families are forever!

I had a bulging disk that was 3/4 of the way out of my vertebrae and it made me experience excruciating pain. I suffered with this for a year before I was able to talk a surgeon into giving me back surgery. Even though it was such a horrible experience for me to go through, it made me appreciate how much pain Christ suffered in Gethsemane. Christ’s pain was unimaginable.

On July 18, 1974, I had spent 7 days in a pediatric ICU and was in my 3rd day in a recovery room after having had a very brief ride on a horse. Within moments of a cousin placing me on a horse, the horse had bolted, jumped its corral fence, charged into the nearby intersection onto a state highway and ran in front of a speeding semi that was hauling 2 fully loaded trailers. The semi was traveling 50 MPH when it hit the horse. The collision tossed me something like 20 to 40 feet. I landed face first into the windshield of the semi and bounced when the back of my head hit the pavement. My mother had been in my room every day. Had read through the Book of Job, maybe 2 or more times. More than 48 years later, I can still remember opening my eyes and feeling like I had recently lain down for a brief nap. I was fully refreshed and I felt no pain anywhere in my body. I remember seeing my mother sitting in a chair at the foot of my bed, on the left of my bed. I sat up and asked, "Why am I in this hospital?" As my mother began telling me what she understood about what had happened, she wasn't there, I remembered gaining permission to ride the horse. I have never had any memory of my cousin placing on the horse. Nor of the horse bolting, jumping the corral fence or of any part of the accident. By my understanding, perhaps an hour after I was placed on the horse, one of my paramedics called my aunt's house. The cousin who had placed me on the horse, picked up the phone and heard the paramedic tell her that I had died soon after I had been removed from the scene of the accident, and that "all efforts of resuscitation had failed." I have never had any memory of dying in the ambulance, nor of anything that I might have experienced while I was dead. My mother told me, right after I asked her "Why am I in the hospital?" that l had "Smashed in my forehead, smashed in my nose, shattered my right cheek bone, broken my jaw and crushed the back of my head. When God opened my eyes, I had 2 fingernail sized scabs on my forehead. No other abrasions or bruises. Not even any bed sores. I felt no pain anywhere in any part of my head, or anywhere else. And the entirety of Job's Trials played through my mind while my mother was telling me about my accident. Before my mother was done with telling me about my accident, I decided that, like Job, that I would have to refuse to curse God.

Shared this on Casey's Job presentation but I feel it is of value . I find it interesting the letters of Jobs's name in Hebrew - איוב . Aleph, Yud, Vav, and Beit. And? Well, Aleph is the first letter of El, Elohim, and related to God. Then is Yud, the first letter of Yehovah (Jehovah), and the first letter of Yisrael (Israel). Third, is Vav, which is the letter related to 6 and then the material world, or most importantly, Man. Finally, is Beit, or house/relationship. Point made: God Jehovah Man Relationship. The relationship between God, Jehovah, and man. If you remove the Vav (man) from this word you get Ayab- to hate (as one of an opposite tribe or party); hence to be hostile- to be an enemy. The definition is Strongs. Exegesis is that Job is in a proper relationship with God the Father, Yehovah our God, and man in proper order. Remove man and he is an enemy, "for the natural man is an enemy to God." (Mosiah 3:19). To me this is the beautiful work of God. My testimony.

Something came to mind when I was thinking about Job yesterday. It's this. Suffering and trials are possible to go through and handle well if we are guiltless. Suffering caused by sin is where suffering becomes unbearable. Job was guiltless and his conscience was clear so his suffering was supported by God. God cannot support us in sin... only in repentance. I only know from my own experiences.

Thank you for explaining this to me. Before you lesson I didn't understand why all this was allowed to happen to Job. Thank you each week. God bless you both and your families

Tyler has lots of clothing rustle because of his jacket rubbing over the mic. Placing the mic in the knot of the tie will avoid this problem in the future.

Tyler and Taylor the trouble I have always had with Job is the part where God and Lucifer are having a conversation about Job. If Lucifer is case out, how can he be in the presents of God, and having conversations face to face.

Even though Lucifer cannot enter into God's presence, God can go wherever He wants to accomplish His purpose. And also we don't know exactly what constitutes "in His presence."
