I was born with major birth defects affecting all of my limbs. I am missing half of my legs, one arm and half of my other arm. I have been blessed beyond measure. I have gone to college, served a trackting mission, was employed and worked 36 yrs and drive a car. Mosiah 2: 21 is my favorite scripture. Not only has he given me breath he has made it possible to live, move and do according to my own will. He supports me every minute!

@@paulagraves6517 I have an idea, couldn't he find a graduate student, who could go scripture by scripture with us and keep his tradition going? I think I'm too ADHD to follow this jumping around. It was over 35 years ago that King Benjamin's sermon triggered something inside of me regarding the truthfulness of it. I think that i read it and re-read it several times savoring every verse as though this man was speaking as proxy for the Savior himself. I felt that I was among the audience witnessing a man so filled with the Spirit sharing messages of guidance, warning, and comfort to my mind and heart that my perspective concerning the Book of Mormon took a new and revised point of view. I no longer read the Book of Mormon to get a specific number of pages read. My study of all scripture and General Conference talks became a verse by verse and a read and re-read method that I embraced then and do so even more now ever since i was introduced to Brother Halverson's Unshaken podcast four years ago. I have my scriptures next to me so I can pause the video and zero in on the words and phrases that he highlights in the verse(s) so I can ponder and meditate on them. When I do that I am literally being taught by the Holy Ghost the truth(s) that are conveyed by the author, in this case King Benjamin, and Brother Halverson's commentary to my mind and heart . It is as though a wave of enlightenment is passing through my body and soul with more power, conviction and focus that I want to declare the truthfulness of King Benjamin's sermon, and all scripture and every General Conference talk that the Lord provides for my and our spiritual growth and learning. It is like being converted from what I was yesterday to what I have become today. There is no denying the principle found in Isaiah 28: 9-11 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people."

Last week I was so concerned that you would knock the microphone flying with your hands that I watched with bated breath, waiting for the crash. I am so relieved to see you with your sleeves rolled up and your hands and arms free to continue gesticulating as always, with no fear of an impending disaster. Also I am very glad to see, for the first time since you left your office for your family room, your beloved scriptures between your elbows, where they belong. We are so glad that the content of your lessons are always exceptionally well prepared and delivered with clarity. We have learned so much from Day 1 and we can’t thank you enough for your time and devotion as you strive to make us unshakeable. Love from Janet, Alistair’s wife 🎈

Everything we do in the Gospel is to reconcile to God so we can truly feel who we truly are and recognize we need to give our broken heart and contrite spirit. Thank you so much for this discussion on the two ledgers! I am preparing a talk on the Agony of Christ and how it makes Him accessible to us. The doctrine two ledgers, one of debits and one of gifts, puts into perspective, for me, why Christ had to suffer for us, to gift us Salvation. He didn't suffer in Gethsemane to make us in debt to Him. Salvation, instead, is a gift from a God made flesh by His mother. A God in a clay Tabernacle who could not succor us until He felt the weight, the pain, the anguish, the agony of being fully mortal. The cup of pain He asked to be relieved of. The cup of agony that He drank from, then poured out in blood from His pores. And all He asks is for us to obey His Father's commands in return, as He did in Gethsemane. So He can walk with us as we learn submit to Heavenly Father's will, which is all we can do.

Dear Brother Halverson, With all love and respect to those involved in the new format I would like to express my feelings regarding this format. I suffer from extreme social anxiety I rarely leave home. I have found great comfort in your lessons over the past four years. Your format and lighting have been personable and I felt as if you were talking to me. It was simple and full of light. I understand the video crew is trying to make it artistic, but I think they are looking beyond the mark. The lighting is distracting and the back ground is too dark. A simple lighting like you had in your home was much more conducive to learning. Come back into the light, lol. Sincerely, your brother in the Lord, Brother Rutman

Beautiful lighting focuses on you, not the background. Your right-side with shadow and light effect are very flattering to your face!! Too much light flattens and add weight, but the depth in lighting compliments you and separates you nicely from the busy bookshelves in the old background. The look feels calming and inviting, subtle yet softly dramatic - love it!! This is my favorite style of your lectures!! It’s beautiful! I love the simple casual you here, with the lighting bringing you forward - shadowing lightly is slimming, flattering and calming. The fonts in the graphics are too chunky and small, try condensed fonts instead of the bold on every text. There’s a balance - that will fit more text and be easier to read, than tiny bold text! Love this new look! Elegant and proffesional, casual and calm. I find it VERY inviting!!! Thank you for all your efforts and changes. My favorite scriptural teacher!!

Yes you’re right Jared. I remember one of our past latter day prophet said the challenges in the church won’t be from outside but from within the church itself. We must be strong, be faithful n be humble to overcome our weakness n follow the prophets just like the primary song “ Follow the prophets”

Reread the part about being indebted to God and us being unprofitable servants, except read it as a patent child relationship instead of a God-Man relationship and it really fits. It helps us view our indebtedness to God and His purpose in giving us commandments, not as a way to repay Him but as something that will benefit us and the rest of the family. Creator is a good title for God but Father is an even better one!

Thank you Br. Halverson for many years of such wonderful lessons! My husband and I watch as much of your videos as we can get in each week. We have upped it to 1.5x speed! One request, can you please go back to the way the on-screen scriptures appear? The black, white, and red were much more difficult to look at for me. If no one else agrees, I understand. Thank you again!

I have often wondered if the state of contention we have had with our Evangelical brothers and sisters has been an impediment to our teaching the understanding of grace. Thier concern that we (all Christians, them and us) might think anything we do earns us salvation, that any action might make us "profitable," we have answered with "yes, but" (and often just "but" ) that to be unprofitable servants first we must BE servants. We have perhaps turned up the volume on the drum beat of obedience to balance the trumpet proclaming Gods grace. I have been following the journey of brother David Alexander this last year. One of his constant frustrations, as one who desires and tried to serve God with his whole soul, was those around him who were content to rest on Christ's laurels. To pass off the punishment for thier sins, but keep the sins themselves. To accept Jesus into thier hearts but not follow him into his vineyard.

I just love your lessons! I am so uplifted and I learn so much. Thank you for taking our suggestions and bringing back some of the things that we grew to love about your lessons - that personal touch! God bless you. I just noticed that one of the pages of your scriptures is just hanging loose. I love it, it means you've literally worn out your scriptures. I love my "Quad" as well!

Love your lessons, you teach so awesome! I understand your teaching so well. But the new scriptures typed in white and red is hard for me to read. I liked the old way you did the scriptures.

53:13 even if we did own that breath, we wouldn’t want to keep it. Our bodies instantaneously contaminate it. Our lungs are designed to have so much surface area that they can exchange contaminants in our body through the membrane. What a beautiful example of Christ as the air we breathe. He is constantly exchanging the purity of the air we breathe in and takes back the gunk we breathe out. That makes me want to make sure the air I breathe is more pure and cleaner

Thank you so much for all you do! Your insights have made the scriptures come alive for me in such a deeper way. I taught seminary for almost 7 years. I loved it because I spent so much time in my scriptures. You have helped my FEAST again! Thank you! I have to say however, the new format is frustrating, harder to take notes, harder to read the scripture inserts, the lighting is distracting to the spirit. I crave the old way! …more time, verse by verse, home setting. I will still “listen” but it is missing something.

It's different, yes, but I'm grateful whatever time he's willing to spend to teach us. There's always the longer versions of these same lessons from 4 years ago that are still available for more indepth verse by verse study. 😊

Excellent presentation, Spirit Filled, helping many to 'understand' truth and drink from thr 'River of Life'. God continue to inspire and exalt the word of God as presented by the Lords servant, Bro Halverson who 'teaches' with the 'power of God'

How did you do this with almost the same high quality as last week without the big mic? I'm impressed! The production quality is still improved over when you did it all yourself, but you have kept all the best things from your previous format. I loved it! I personally like the new set and lighting. Looks really sharp!

His Atoning Love. For me 😢us.the effect of sins which leads us to repent, which leads us to Christ. The effect of knowing and not obeying and transgressing, not accepting His gifts of love which would bless us with compassion and security.

Brother Halverson, I was directed to your site by an acquaintance. It has been a true blessing in my life. I can see by the previous comments that you are responsive to the comments. I also appreciate the shirtsleeves, losing the huge mic, and the straightforward camera angle. Your previous location had a much warmer look. Perhaps you could think about that as well. The most important comment, though, is that the black and white and red that is now used to present the scripture references and the comments is very difficult to read. Hurts the eyes. For me, the previous format was SO much better. Not sure, but perhaps others also have that issue. Anyway, thank you for all your time and the many hours you devote now and have devoted in the past to be able to share the gospel with this depth and insight.
