Fractured sound can be beautiful. Sometimes its best to leave yourself and enter someone else’s world and experience. People, together, joined in music and voice have the power.
Luis Resto is a Detroit-based musician and songwriter who has collaborated with a wildly diverse collection of accomplished artists in a career that has spanned over three decades. Perhaps most notable, has been his relationship with rapper, Eminem. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. This dude killed it on the Mockingbird beat for Eminem. That’s how I found him. Cool guy

I found him through “Hailey’s Song.” his parts were so musical and perfect for the emotion. You can tell eminem gave him a vocal melody or idea and he came up with perfect parts to support it

Aloha Louis, Back in 1978 I sold a watercolor to a plastic surgeon and his lovely wife. It had a starry background. She told me she was supporting me because she had a son who was a musician. I sold it with a prayer for success. I became an art teacher in Detroit at Earhart Middle School on Scotten with your friend; Gary Haverkate. He brought you to career day after you won the Grammy for Lose It. When he said your name, I told him I sold a painting to a Mr. Restos in Lansing with Nora Mendoza. Well, I see you did well,🤙🏽 I got recruited to teach in Kauai’i and lived there for 9 years where I met Darby Slick. The Hawaiian Pakalolo was very good! It inspired me to learn guitar, kinda. I returned to Michigan and found someone to love after a divorce. She happens to be Boricua! I never got a chance to photograph my watercolor that your parents bought. Patti Smith and you would have loved Hawaiian, but my step son here has nice Pakalolo. Adrian has become the hub in Michigan. Maybe we will run into each other at Eastern Market someday. Thank you for the tunes over the years as well as future ones . I surely hope the painting is in good hands🙏🏽❤🤙🏽 Continued success, bendiciones,

Delicate. Kind. Spacious. Yes, Luiz, let us give credence to all of this, and especially what is not finished. What is rough around the edges, and still becoming. This talk was moving, beautiful, and inspiring. I wish I had been there to add my voice and heart but I did so just now, from Maine. Such a pleasure to witness your mind and hands and body and words in motion.Thank you! (With heart.)

...Cinderella slippers, knee-socks and plaid skirt, ponytails hiding half the things embroidered on her shirt and when she'd move she'd look just like a wood nymph in strobed light, toting her loved ones' stolen memories. behind her like the knotted-tail on a kite ...

Do you remember writing songs in the back of Mr Copeland's chemistry class. Circa 1976 ?
