From the "Come Thou Almighty King" video, featured the New York Fellowship Mass Choir, a combination of such choirs as Hezekiah Walker & LFCC, James Hall & WAP, Bronx Mass Choir, and more.
This is Totally one the most AWESOME songs ever done By Rev. Timothy and he will be truly missed but his Legend will Live on forever through His songs and his perseverance,Truly Talented Man. I know a Man is a Great song also RIP Man of God Brenda
You will never know true vocal endurance until you sing this song with a choir. Im out of breathe just thinking how in the world did i survive singing this back in the day ☺
rachelmm05 i just sung this son for.the first time in 19 years this past August in honor of my old youth choir directors 50th Birthday. If anybody knows sister Tiffany Collier From Louisville Kentucky, she's an Amazon choir director.
To all the psalmist/choir directors etc...THIS IS HOW A CHOIR SHOULD SOUND.!! Everyone knows the words, the song is song upbeat and and in a RESPECTFUL manner. Wow...how I wish choirs would go back to this style of rendering music in the name of Jesus. Miss you Rev. Wright...R.I.P...
This song brings back so many memories for me. The whole church would stand and welcome/host God. People would be running with children dancing in the aisles. It was a heaven on earth experience.
Gospel Music has come a long way. And I'm "Mighty" proud of the strides it has taken over the last 25 years. But this generation opf music is beyond anything I've heard. The fact that it is praise to the Lord is Wonderful in its self. But can we give a shoutoput to that band............ Simply Amazing!!!!! Glory To The Father............
My God! My God! Now that's the type of celebration I want to be a part of! This is still one of the best Praise songs ever! We still sing this in my church! Glory to God!
I believe he is the absolute and only Male Gospel Artist that made it simple and easy for us choir directors to teach the songs not to difficult n i wish sum1 would bring bak THE CHOIRRS not group I mean the CHOIRS with robes processionals n all
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (May 29, Easter 6), we sang this as our opening hymn. It is #408 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
when choirs sang, .And Not pre recorded. Real voices. So glad I Had that honor and privilege . Rest In Peace To My Director Professor Irving Brockington and Pastor Timothy Wright His Lovely Wife and Grandson
Amen...Imagine the choir is almost complete with him, James Cleveland, and many others who came before them. He is now with our Lord and re-united with his wife. Prayers for his family and his church going up.
eventhough choirs aren't popular anymore like they was when I was kid in the late 80s and early 90s I still love them everything now is praise and worship
mrm64 I agree, now all you have to do it get a couple of your neighbors that can sing form a group and make up a name they can sing a song and all you have to do is talk through the song and it will be on Bobby Jones No#1 hit..lol
misterjgl HAHAHAH!! Exactly!! No doubt you mean Kirk Franklin or James Fortune lol. I love those guys and their music, but its times like these when I miss O'landa Draper or Thomas Whitfield. Mass choirs were all the hype. They used to be jammin' in their robes, choir directors would direct with any body part they had (lol) and music videos were still around. At least Ricky Dillard and Hezekiah Walker are still at it. And we do have some rising stars like Dexter Walker and Zion Movement :)
you are so right. but I guess the choir days are over, just like when my 90 year old grandmother starts singing hymms at church and now one knows the words even some of the older folks and some that do know the words didn't know that there was a 3 or 4th verse that my grandmother knows that they discontinued after slavery..lol and she gets upset because no one knows the words. I told her it is a new time in age in churches now. Gospel music of today is not the same
The age of the choir must return! So many soloists and small groups now..it's good praise. But there's nothing like a choir that's on point. It's like Heaven!! I just love it.
July 2020 THY NAME, OH LORD, IS GREATER AND STRONGER THAN covid 19!!!!! THAT'S WHY WE ARE HERE TO PRAISE THY NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES!!!! F O R E V E R!!! HALLELUJAH!!! 🙏🏽🕊️🔥🎵🙌🏽🕊️🔥🎵
Only those who are not afraid to stretch their vocals need to attempt to sing this song.. Our church choir sung this back in the day only thing was we were 16-20 deep on the choir :)!! This song is not only a good vocal workout but also a good cardio vascular song to get hot and worn out to :) One of my favs thanks for posting
16-20 was always a LOT of people in the choir to us growing up in the church. At one point, it was only me, my big bro, and big sis - 1 alto, 1 tenor, and 1 soprano but we sang our lil young hearts out! I miss those days...
A hero ,legend, and Man of God has fallen. Yet, he is risen now with our Lord and Savior. He has left a rich legacy behind him! RIP Rev. Timothy Wright, NYC Finest !!!
GREAT PRAISE, WORSHIP, THE THRONE OF GRACE, WONDERFUL,MY SOUL CRIES OUT-YES LORD-THANK YOU JESUS,HOLY,WE CELEBRATE YOUR NAME-WELSTAR PUBLICATIONS-WHO IS really ON THE LORD'S SIDEby REV. TIMOTHY WRIGHT AND DVD INCLUDED
I GREATLY INDEED am in love with gospel praise and worship gave to Christ Jesus. Indeed every one shall confess and bow down to the king of kings and Lord of lords Christ Jesus.
it was a glorious pleasure to meet rev. timothy wright in washington, dc and he signed is name on my cd which he sang the exact same song and i cried with joy because he inspired me to be a choir director . peace and blessing to the family !
You better say that again. Back in the day if you listen to albums, james cleveland, there were no overdubs, people were praising the Lord during the recording like it should be. We have swung the pendulim so far that it has to come back!
Praising His Name with a young Hezekiah Walker. Always loved this song. When we all get to heaven what a mass choir..... Angels will definitely fold their wings...This is what our salvation brings. What joy!!!!
Let's have church!! I will miss my dear friend, but I know is glorified body is greater. Longtime since I heard this one. Praise God for it!! Go ahead choir and enjoy yourself. I remember interpreting for him (sign language). Thank you for your video.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (July 26), I played this for Sunday School Assembly. It was to the tune, MOSCOW, composed by Felice de Giardini. Just thought I'd share.
I love this song. Brings back so many memories from my church's youth day. I was 17 at the time. We tore this song up. When I say everyone was slain in the spirit, I mean it. Love love love it 😊💗
Never gets old! A good arrangement of the old hymn. Musicians should be familiar with it, depending on your seasoning or background. At least 1/2 $1,000,000 worth of robes.
This would be a good heaven entry song for the saints(once dead and alive) who would be caught up in the rapture. Could you imagine? This will be a great song to teach the heavenly host. Then they would join in with us to praise The Name!
I love this song!! Anytime u can jam for Jesus is always good!! Thanks Bro. Terry Newsome choir director at L.O.C. in Hinesville, GA for introducing it years ago!! Love it! Oldie but goodie!!
It’s amazing how the Heavens and the Saints, we who are of the Redeemed Praise and Worship Him who is Victorious!!! Indeed we come as All Creation do and Praise HIM! Lord God Almighty, Christ Jesus Himself! What a glorious time it is to Lift Up the King for we know HE LIVES! Thank You Jesus 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 26, Pentecost 13), I played this as the Opening Hymn. It is #408 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
We need to have another collaboration of Choir like this again! This is genius! Just look at the praise and worship here, it's blazzing! I'm talking like CHOIRS, not groups. Get Hez, D. Lawrence, Ricky D., Dex and Zion Movt. etc etc Bring 'um all together and let's praise Him like this again!
I'm so into the choir sound that I can take secular songs in my imagination and recreate how they would sound if sung by a choir. Am I doing too much? LOL!
Rachel Manor lol pssh, nope! I be doing the same thing xD I mean believe it or not, a lot of secular R&B songs have some type of choir backing them up like with Maria Carey. Even they gotta give respect to the choirs!
