Personally I would switch the sofa around so that it's facing the windows rather than back to the windows - it would give you a nice view out into the garden then, or it might be better to have a standard 4 seater sofa and a single chair. The main difference between yours and Kerry's is that your fireplace and TV are central so that causes a bit of a problem when trying to fit things around it I guess! It's a beautiful space though!

Yes…like the switch if the sofa and table. You could try moving the long sofa to back against the dining area with your buffet/console from beside the fireplace placed behind it. It will serve as a buffet for the dining area and define that space better. It will also make the back of the sofa look deliberately placed. It will create the feeling of a room for the living room area too and give you a great view of your yard from the sofa. The edge of your carpet won’t be sitting on an awkward site line to the fireplace either. Try to almost centre the dining table on the shelving section, which will allow more room for the dining chairs to be pulled out to sit comfortably. Then move the whole living room a bit closer to the dining area so that the fireplace feels included in the living room. You don’t really need such a wide gap between the two areas. The fireplace will feel better if it’s either centered between the two spaces or included in one of them. 👍👍👍😉. Beautiful home!!!!

Can you turn the couch so it’s open to the back yard? Long side along side the kitchen. 💕🇦🇺🏠🎬 l am alway moving my furniture around in family and lounge rooms 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

The sofa is better where is was at the beginning and I think you need a much larger rug so that it goes right under the sofa..the bigger the room the bigger the rug! Also a non slip mat would help. You could also do a lime wash on the table(with paint) to tone it down I don't think the sofa is too big. It is such a lovely room..so homely and not pretentious!!

I've just donated a load of my own Zara bits to charity so I'm glad someone else gets excited like me when buying bits from the charity shop! Haha

Haven't watched the whole vlog yet but loving it so far Kate 😍 When you said about changing your childhood bedroom around, i can't relate 😅 my mum only let me decorate once during my teens! 😅 now i change the room in my house every year 😁 xx with regards to your sofa..have you thought about having two 3 seaters either side of the TV with a coffee table in the centre or would there not be enough room either side for the dining table? perhaps you could move the TV to the stand on the right hand side and put a nice rustic mirror above the fire? 😊 x

Definitely switch your sofa so you can see out of the window your house is just so beautiful with all your dads carpentry so homely and welcoming with all your family photos if I was Kerry she’s so lovely but maybe lacks style and confidence she should be taking advice from you as her house looks so sad and clinical and cold maybe suggest putting up family photos and memories or giving her advice on style ❤xx
