Thanks for the tour. We have 16 acres with 10 acres of pasture, 3 acres of forest and 3 acres of yard. We have 3 milk cows and 4 beef yearlings plus laying hens. It is amazing how much food we can raise on such a small piece of land. We are planning on putting in a .5 acre berry orchard and running our meat bird chicken tractors through the orchard.
I enjoyed the tour of your homestead. You have a lot going for you on a great piece of land! I only have 1/2 acre so I only have a few chickens and my garden but I'm content with it. Thanks for the tour!
Sounds like you have quite a bit going too! So much is possible even on a 1/2 acre! Minus the cows, we probably do the rest of what we do on about that much land. Thanks for watching and happy homesteading!
We've added organic seed from Albert Lea Seed and then just grazing them and moving daily has really enhanced the pasture! Let us know if you have any more questions! Thanks for watching!
All the wonderful things you have going for you make me so happy. I'm sure your life isn't perfect, but looks like you are very blessed. You seem like salt of the earth, so it's so nice to see so many of your blessings.
Thank you for your effort to make such a useful video. If I may suggest something - it would be very helpful to see that map which is only a front picture of the film. It will really help to understand some minor but still crucial layouts of your homestead. Anyway it was great to see thoughtful couple ❤ which shares their knowledge to help others. 🎉
Appreciate the comment! We did put the map in there for a bit at about 1:15 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgwlP7KksTQ.html If you want to dig in a little deeper into the map and some other layout tips we have a blog post that breaks it down more - fromscratchfarmstead.com/homestead-layout/ Thanks for watching!
Are you selling raw milk? In Illinois it is permitted to sell raw milk for human consumption. I buy mine in Indiana and there it can only be sold for pets.
