Another Gig Vlog for you guys today! Had a ton of fun at this show and got a bunch of playing in here for you guys. Tell me what you think! Would you go see a show at a pool?? Tripps Channel : / @trippxhowell
So much in this video to comment on. All those years of sharing rooms and now you get a plush room to yourself. Being a pro musician usually means about ten years of sharing rooms but I think it's worth it. You can tell on stage that Lanco is the real deal. The drummer definitely is helping the band amp up their performances. I see the singer as well keying off the drummer and you when you rock out. That is a lot of energy right there. It's cool when bands make to the point where they can travel in style. I dig hotels and pool shows. I saw Prince perform at a hotel in Vegas and got front row view. It was epic. Hotels are good because fans can fly to a show and everything is in one place. It's more affordable for fans this way.
I have to say, especially now that I’m retired from the road after the better part of 36 years of doing this kind of touring, your videos gave me a level of anxiety/PTSD of life on the road all the time. We were fortunate to have had a crew to handle all of the stage, set up and teardown, load in and load out, and we rarely if ever had to Soundcheck because we carried our own monitor and front of house gear. In fact, the only time we ever sound checked, was when we did fly dates and were using backline gear provided by the promoter of the show. The only upside to FLY dates was that you didn’t have to spend 24 hours on a bus to get to a show. Those 5 AM lobby calls to go back to the airport really sucked. We were fortunate to always have hotel rooms wherever we were playing and CASINO gigs were particularly good about that. Plus, we always had our own bus that was customized to our needs but that still doesn’t take away the stress of all the time spent on it to go somewhere. I hope you enjoy this while you’re still young like we did 30+ years ago, but trust me when I tell you, The day will come when it wears you out completely.
Tim my dude! Amazing video. I started playing guitar again in February after I had to put it down for 16 yrs because my wife got daily migraines. I found your channel a few months back and you are teaching me so much. I play a acoustic Martin. I played 3 yrs before I stopped playing and man I wish I never stopped but I put my wife 1st what are ya going to do. Anyway keep doing you my friend. I think I subbed to you when you had maybe 200 subs! Keep growing n keep rocking
I remember seeing pat methany doing an interview; he said something like it’s guitar you gotta be able to strum quarter notes. This video just made me smile. Great playing bro. Congrats on the gig!
Really enjoy your travel gig vids. All the tidbits leading up to the show ( behind the scenes) and a nice sampling of sound check and the show; it’s just about as close to taking us along as you can get. It looked like a really nice place to play.
Never played a Casino but play in a regional band that plays a lot of dates. Love the content. Like seeing how similar bands are on all different levels. Subbed!
I love all of your videos. I did some traveling and playing years ago. Traveled in a converted bus (4 busses over the years), but nothing to your level. I really enjoy whatever you video. Thanks for taking your time to do it. You are very talented and your playing is smooth.
Tim love this you are doing great job ive subscribed and very glad i did bro thanks for a peak into the Nashville music scene☕️☕️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎😎😎💥💥🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
Great videos. Love what you are sharing with us. Quick question: Do you down tune, or release the tension in your guitar strings before you pack them to fly? The few times I have flown with guitars it was recommended that I do because of the temperature change while flying. My apologies if you’ve covered this already. And again, thanks so much for these.
Thanks for watching! I don’t at all, it might be better for them. But I’ve never don’t anything. A lot of times they’re still in tune after I take them out!
Love your vlogs. When you were playing the 12 string, the lighting made it look like the fingernails on your left hand were painted red! For a few minutes I was wondering if that was a new trend to make it look like you were playing really fast.
Good stuff once again. I love checking out any musician on the job! Looks like You guys are getting a workout🎉 I guess that's a good thing. Sound quality is good camera angles maybe not so much but I do like to GoPro from your chest but that's about it. Keep up the good work my friend Maybe one of these times you can get somebody with a camera to actually record it pro style and then edit that. Just a thought? Keep up the good work You're working hard plus you're doing your music My hat's off to you bro!!!!!💯✌️
Yoooooo! Love the gear content! It looked like you were in front of a green screen while playing the Martin 12 string…really bugged out my eyes, it looked like you were floating haha. What’s up with cigarette smoking indoors where you’ve played? I used to smoke and enjoying more and more smoke-free areas. Anyway great video again, looking forward to the next one! Rock on!
I didn't know Trip was doing videos like you. I'll check him out. You know Tim if you could find someone who has experience with using that chest Camara in the kind situations and setting you're regularly in they might be able to show you what you need to know about getting better results out of it. I enjoyed this whole video. Was that your acoustic 12 string or did it belong to someone else? It sounded good even if out of tune. Vox AC30 Amps are Iconic! Your Guitars sounded great in concert. Hey did the Airline get the Keyboard to the Casino in time to use in concert? Again enjoyed watching.
The reamp is just for my wireless signal! my tone comes out of the guitar, through the wireless unit, thats routed over to my board, then into my pedal board and out to my amp!
@@TimAvenMusic so in your signal path the reamp is between your wireless and your board? I enjoy your picking. I get to Nashville once in a while and will sit in occasionally with the guys over at the Nashville palace when there. Especially, if I can catch Rod Riley when he's in town. Or at the Music City bar and grille. I tend to hang out more over on that side of town than the Broadway area.
I’ve been wondering…. Have you ever practiced a song and half way through pretending you broke the high E or B string?. Playing the song in a different area of the neck on the spot.
You know dude your taking some heat ...from the old real players in Nashville...your trying to make RU-vid dollars...telling people about your touring life....hehe...your a greenhorn...just sayin...yeah I'm an old guy ...but I've seen some of the guys ....joking...
