I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old and I'm 61.... I enjoy making blankets .... I have made blankets for Christmas gifts for family and friends..... I love making blankets..... Have a wonderful day or evening..... Love you too 💖🌹
I just recently found your channel. My grandma taught me to crochet when I was 4 or 5! I know it was before I started kindergarten and I’m 60 now! She was amazing! She also taught me to sew and quilt on her treadle machine! When I got older, I had to buy a Learn to Crochet book because I never knew any of the names of the stitches! Grandma never followed a pattern, she made everything up as she went! I knew all the stitches but never knew their names. Now, I can follow any pattern and still make things up as I go! I’ve crocheted everything from christening gowns, tablecloths and doilies of thread to sweaters to afghans from heavier yarn! It is my mental therapy! I’m so grateful for the gifts of creativity that my grandmother gave me!!!
Really love your videos! Thank you for taking us along for your yarn shopping! I like the granny square yarn and can't wait to see what you do with it!❤
So happy to see you pop up on my RU-vid page. It was fun to visit stores with you, and see how happy buying the yard made you. It makes me happy too when I get picked up two or three stains on my favorites. I wish you luck with the granny square yarn. I think it’s too much work and too expensive, so I won’t be buying any of it. I have never seen yarn in our local Goodwill store, but they do have a pretty good book section. Lots of clothes, and I always check out the baskets. I love baskets. Well, I want to take a project down to the patio on our building, I always put it in the basket. So easy to carry. Arlo and bandit are so funny. I love how they be. I miss sharing my meals with my fur babies. Losing them has made me very sad. I miss them so much. The three of us were a family. Enjoy all your new yarn. ❤❤
Hey Sandy, how are you? My Goodwill recently downsized their book section, it's so small now. What kind of books do you read? Hugs to you from Arlo and Bandit.
Hi Jennie, Nice yarn haul!!! The Minty from red heart and the paddy green my Walmart carries. Now I have to put all my red, green, white to the side for Christmas in July. Can't wait to see what we will be making! Here on Long Island its getting cloudy. Sun is gone. No rain yet but I know it's coming. Thanks for taking us along with you! Looking forward to your next video! And don't forget Jennie, keep being awesome!! Love to you! ❤
We finally got the rain late this afternoon. When we were out it was just sprinkles. I don't shop at Walmart often so I never know what their yarn section looks like. Long Island, I love it!! You are awesome!! lol
Wow your thrift stores have so much more than I've found around me. After my last comment about thrift store yarn, I went on a hunt & couldn't find much. I'll keep looking because I do like a bargain. Ty for posting.
I will be ready to stitch along in July. I am so happy to have you and your channel in regular viewing rotation. I tend to binge watch after life gets busy! Your enthusiasm shines through! 💞💓💞💓
You got great deals. I am in a rural area. Towns around are small. Don't often see yarn at the thrift store and sometimes what is there is not nice. It is really easier to watch for online deals and buy that way.
I think I would love to go yarn hauling with you and hangout! You are lucky to have thrift stores that have all those goodies. It's a struggle to find yarn in any around here. I was totally jelly when you found the paddy green lol...I haven't had any in years either. Love ya that was fun😉🫶👍.
Yay for yarn!! I have an 05 town and country and she dings a lot. I call her my Ark. She is my vintage vehicle for sure. The paddy green is a really great color yarn. I found some in my stash the other day. I am saving up to buy some of premiers Christmas yarn for your Christmas in July. Good visit with you. Take care❤
Your thrift stores have a great selection of yarn. The ones where I live aren't great, although I have found yarn from time to time. At one thrift store I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a small scrap ball of yarn and the price they wanted was $2.50. I said no way. Right now I am in the process of sewing in ends. I have lots and lots to do! I can't wait to see how and if you like that granny square yarn.
Hi Jenny this was fun! And also thank you for the small sample of putting patchwork squares together. I do understand however I’m hoping you will show how to also go around it at the end. Seems like I have a brain block on the intersections because there is a raised stitch I don’t know what to do with. Looking forward to what you do! Thanks for all the great videos!
Haven't found any yarn in my area for awhile now but some of my best thrift finds in general have been yarn. Just a few years ago I racked up at Goodwill getting bulk bags @ $5.99 that each had up to 10 skeins in each bag. At least once I purchased 8 bulk bags on a half-priced Saturday so got them for around $3 for each bag instead of the $5.99. It looks like you found some great stuff!
You got deal my thrift stores hardly ever get yarn but i have gotten crochet books. I got the all in one granny square yarn at my Walmart it was on a end cap it was 7.48 I got 2 and made a granny corner to corner throw .
Love your videos. I'm almost 74yo and have been crocheting since I was 10. I retired 10 years ago so now I can crochet all day when I want to, yay! I am currently making a mosaic blankets using Tunisian crochet. But I still love making granny squares. I have really enjoyed watching your granny videos and also your planned pooling. Thanks so much for sharing with us. ❤
Over the years I have made just about every kind of project imaginable. But these days I make mostly blankets to donate. I am currently making Spiritual Flow pattern by Sarah Athey.
