I love that the RU-vid algorithm is recommending more videos like this on my feed. Always so awesome watching other small business owners running their craft shows! I think you’re the first I’ve seen who charges tax. Curious if you’d ever had pushback or weird looms from customers since most vendors don’t charge tax at fairs. Have you ever lost a sale? I attend big shows like Renegade and ppl don’t charge tax. I look forward to your other videos!! :)

Thank you & welcome! I live in Michigan, and it's required to charge sales tax. I know some states don't have sales tax. There are a few vendors that I know that include the sale taxes in their product price, so it's an even number. So it depends where and who. I personally don't include the sales tax in the product price because I like to see the number separate from the item price. I haven't had a customer question me about being charged sales tax since the state of Michigan collects it. Most of the markets I do are in Michigan. I only lost a sale if I didn't have enough change or the customer didn't want to use their card as a second payment option.

I charge tax in Colorado and I do farmers markets where the food vendors at my events don't have to charge tax. I've never gotten pushback. They might roll their eyes, but it's not directed at me - just the fact that taxes exist in general. I feel it saves them money, because on a $7 item let's say, they pay $7.60, whereas if I did it the other way, I'd have to raise my price to $8 to cover the tax. And that's where I would lose sales. I'd rather them be mad at the state and not me.

Vendors in NJ and NY where I frequent do charge sales tax on items that are normally taxable. Food vendors also charge tax. Fresh vegetables and fruit are non-taxable items according to tax rules in the state.

Thank you! I bought 2 separate pegboard and made it into a stand. I got the pegboards from Etsy. I got my slatwall stand custom made for me by a local business.

Hi! I actually got my wicker shelf at a garage sale at a surprisely low price. I know people resale at a higher price. A customer did come up to me at this market and asked if I was selling the shelf😅

Hi there, I'm not sure which part you're talking about. My sewing space is in the basement, so you can hear noises from upstairs. So it may be the washing machine or shower.

Hi there! There’s a lot places that you can get your drawings printed on fabric. I’m not sure where you’re located but I know here in the states, you can get your designs printed through Joann’s fabric website or spoonflower. I have never got any designs printed on fabric yet so I can’t recommend where. Always do your research and get samples of the fabric before placing your order. Hopes this helps.
