Simeon is Chicago's best-known Public League basketball program. Producing players like Derrick Rose (Pistons), and Jabari Parker (Hawks)
and more recently Talen Horton-Tucker (Lakers) and Zach Norvell Jr (Lakers) Simeon is always a top contender.
Curie doesn't get the same respect despite the fact they're the defending Chicago city champs and are undefeated this season.
Curie Condors are led by ultra-intense senior Ramean Hinton (SEMO-commit). While he's never been nationally-ranked, he's known by Chicagoans
as one of the toughest players in the city who plays with maximum intensity and maximum heart!
Curie got down by 18 points (twice) to Simeon in this game only to come back and win 67-66! 6'6 Ramean Hinton finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds.
Saiveon Williams (Curie transfer from South Carolina) made his Chicago debut and was a force in the paint for Curie (11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks).
Curie senior guard (1) Elijah Pickens scored 17 for Curie. Josiah Hammons scored 10 off Curie's bench.
DePaul commit Ahamad Bynum and Fred Poole each scored 12 for Simeon. Jaylen Drane added 10 points and Jeremiah Williams added 9 points before fouling out for Simeon.
These 2 teams could meet again this month at Pontiac Holiday Tournament as well as in the Chicago city tournament and in the Illinois State Tournament!
This marked Curie's first school win at Simeon Career Academy (one of the toughest gyms in Chicago).
