I’m an Australian firearm owner and the concept of just allowing any idiot to have access to firearms is mind blowing to me. It’s not about stopping responsible, law abiding citizens from exercising their rights, it’s that firearm control laws are designed to stop (or at least limit) the wrong type of people having access to firearms, and there should be harsh penalties for those who are possessing illegally obtained firearms. It’s quite disheartening that supposedly responsible law abiding citizens would act like gun massacres are inevitable and there’s nothing they can do about them. They’ve been lied to and manipulated by the gun lobbyists who make billions manufacturing and selling firearms and protection equipment. They want people to panic buy firearms and flex on social media their massive collection of firearms because it’s about making money. For the “dO yOuR oWn ReSeArCh” crowd they are pretty bloody gullible.

In an ideal world, GOP will devolve into a minor fringe party, the Dems will continue to occupy the centre-Right space, and a new major party will emerge to occupy the centre-Left space, with executive/legislative power swinging between them. The new party would probably absorb some of the more Left-leaning members of the Democrat caucus.
I'm withe imigrant - I guess I should consider myself "lucky". I worked in USA 46 years, I probably achieved more than 4-5 trump's supporters together. It makes me very angry when my friends who are Black, Philippines, Mexicans and other are targeted by trump. Sad picture of today's America.

Donald Trump is the one responsible for increased taxation on the people and reduce taxation on the corporations who make their profits off of the people. All taxation comes from the people. Already have with my partner's friends. They think it is fake or that Trump doesn't back it. They are just too stupid and will not believe anything you give them. They will deny deny deny deny deny until it actually impacts their life. And even then, they will only change their mind on that very thing that impacted them, they will not then question if everything else is a lie or whatever. That happened when one of my partner's friend wife got medicaid and ended up getting an autoimmune disease. He was against healthcare for all, until that happened. Now he is pro-healthcare for all, but still backs everything else the Right tells him. His reasoning for "why" he was against healtcare for all was "fear". Even though he always ranted before hand, how he shouldn't have to pay for someone else's healthcare and that taxing him for it is theft. No facts will ever change their mind. It is why I believe them to be evil at the core, even the everyday people. I do not understand how you can back all the hate, justify people dying, and think is it okay to let people die and not be evil. And the fact they only change their mind is when it impacts someone they love, just shows that they are just evil and don't care about others but those who, lets be honest, benefit their life.
