Here & on his late night show Craig used an impish, absurd sense of humor that may appear light to many but was rooted in dark truths that most do not want to confront.
@@don-vito-coreleone They're are so much cutting against the snowflake archetype. They forget what it means to be original. Original like a stand up comedian. Am I saying comedians are snowflakes? You gotta know I'm saying that.
@@don-vito-coreleone If I joke & laugh about your dead sibling or parent as my "comedy" routine, u wouldn't get all whiny? What u are advocating for is punching down, which is what bullies do. But for some reason u find punching down "funny"- which speaks to your own dysfunction.
You weren't already aware that this appearance happened years ago? Hmm.🤔 Actually, it's a reminder AND a warning that the republican party has been this bad and, now, it's even worse.
@@barbiedahl yes, I knew this was old footage. But i thought maybe there would be something current, too. Do you really think we need a reminder about how the Republican Party and Clinton were trash in 2008? I’ll just be clicking, “do not recommend channel,” which I’ve been considering, anyway.
If you watched Craig Ferguson every night for 10 years, you wouldn't think that Craig not going for the kill was odd. That was his genius. He could zing people like those neocons without seeming malicious which made a greater impact than if he seemed to take a partisan stand. He didn't need to "go for the kill".
I was in the Marines starting in Feb. 2000. Top 3 of 500+ in every aspect at my unit and when 9/11 happened, the culture changed and my dreams of being with the Reconnaissance unit came to fruition within hours after my 1st Sgt (19yrs in the Force Recon community) and baddest MOFO I knew pulled me and those other 2 guys aside with each of our platoon Sgts informing us of the opportunity to have his personal blessing to bypass the indoc and head into schooling within 48hours. Then pregame for iraq followed by invasion and battles to Baghdad. At that time the Marines were made for this, all of us. Learning the reality of why we’re there later hurts to say the least, often.
Thanks for your service. I'm a veteran as well. I served for six years in the Navy, and did a tour during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and served on ships with Marines. I've always had a lot of respect for what you do. Please tell me you haven't betrayed your oath and are supporting the orange turd.
This was the same excuse made for the Chinese Exclusion Act. The results were laughably the same; few Americans took the jobs the Chinese were willing to do.
Is baseball like football or cricket? Never mind, the front part of the hat is supposed to shield the sun when taking a catch in the outfield in cricket. I guess these guys need to shield their necks or maybe hide their bald patch.
Ferguson nailed it perfectly. He had no desire to screw his career, and he's not a political commentator or journalist, he was there to host an entertaining show that poked at the power without risking his career in the process. That is a magnificent skill, and I recognize it with humility and adoration. Dick "The Dick" Cheney is not someone I admire by any means. "Chide was fun, but also harmless." Yeah, that's kind of the point.
There are many people that are ignorant of decisions made by people in power from the past that have gotten us to where we now are. A bit of education never hurt anyone. Try it. You may learn something yourself.
Um, millions upon millions of people? The whole "nation of immigrants" thing... The US is a unique political experiment because being an American is based upon a set of shared social values-- not ethnicity, nor religion, etc. ANYONE can become an American, unlike say, becoming Chinese, or Italian.
This video is really reaching quite hard to make a point I'm not so sure is on display in any single one of these varied and anachronistically frankensteined clips. smh
Unfortunately, that flies directly in the face of capitalism whose only goal is to maximize profits even it that means manufacturing products in foreign lands where slave level wages are paid, there are no worker rights, and no environmental laws to follow. Most of the US companies in the S&P 500 follow that model. It's interesting that the same people on the far right, who frequently complain about there not being enough good paying jobs in the US are the EXACT same people, who happily cheer that same system of capitalism that has created the current system where so many of those jobs they want have been shipped overseas. Stupid people happily vote against their own interests every election and those people are perfect examples of it. You get what you vote for. 🙂
It would be a challenge to name one president (or other politician)who did not lie for the purpose of promoting his own agenda ; people accept it because that is the price to pay for having some sort of social order.
Oh goody, he played the "Shut Up And Dribble" clip for the 47,321st time. Come on tyt lemmings, let's all pretend this is the first time you've heard it
I normally enjoy your content, Rick, but this video is pretty shoddily produced. Who wrote it? In the section where Craig Ferguson (who, I might add, is hilarious if you ever get to see him do his standup act) is talking about Keith Olbermann and Bill O'Reilly, you state that Olbermann was working for CNN and then seconds later, Ferguson mentions where Olbermann was actually employed -- MSNBC. He did work for CNN early in his career, in 1981. Which was a few years prior to his O'Reilly feud. But in any event, surely there's more recent White House Correspondent's Dinner footage for us to enjoy than something from 2008.
I like Craig Ferguson. However, it feels like this channel has become too desperate when it digs up 16 year old White House Correspondents' Dinner 'skits' to try to make a point. As Craig often said, he was just "a late night douche". TYT Sports. Try harder.
Coupling Trump to Fergusons 2008(!) gig at the Correspondents Dinner is weak, even for TYT. You really have no idea how to fight him, apart from insulting and/or accusing him, do you? Again, weak. Come on, guys. That ship has sailed looooooong ago.
First of all being first on the job mean that you living in poverty it doesn't pay enough that's why people are not working for$15 an hour is not enough money for a family companies make so much money in the United States and they pay the CEOs and the the big management big bonuses but they won't pay the hourly associate at $30 an hour for associate their beginning to come out of poverty 💯😭
