My nephew is a somewhat famous country artist from Tx touring in Florida right now tho will remain nameless because he told me at x-mas how country music was still full of racist and especially so since Trump seems to have embolden them again to public displays. The old guard, and he knows Pat Green, Willie etc hate those guys and believe the work they did to rid country music of racism in the 60s and 70s is being undone. Just a little insight.

I grew up in a small town (population 5,000). We moved there when I was three from out of state. While there were a lot of nice people, there were also a lot of closed minded bigots. We had a neighbor who used to call the cops on us every time we had more than one car in the driveway, complaining we were selling drugs. There were parents who wouldn't let me play with their kids. There was a lot of low level racism. Small towns aren't these bastions of awesome that Mr. Aldean makes them out to be.

"Antifa" is short for "anti-fascist." You're either anti-fascist or you're pro-fascist. There's no in-between. The people who wanted to by in-between are what we used to call "sympathizers" and hung them right next to the nazis. If you're anti-anti-fascist, that makes you pro-fascist. It's a double negative. That's how both language and logic work. So remember, the next time you hear someone complain about "antifa," they're telling you that they are a fascist.

I totally disagree. Why begrudge anyone the opportunity to have a career in politics the same way others have lifelong careers in medicine, banking, masonry, painting? Knowledge and skills improve over time. All committee chairmanships are based on seniority because it takes years to master all the aspects & resources of federal government that can put to use. Otherwise, attaining a chairmanship would be a partisan dogfight and less would be accomplished than under Trump, the worst president ever. Some people are serious about improving the lives of all Americans, not just wealthy, white Americans and if they do so, they should be returned to Congress. If voters don't see their congress persons working for them, they can vote for someone else the next time. It's a beautiful system in many respects.

Experience is a good thing and there's a lot that needs fixing which can legitimately take more than 4 years. The problem is people voting for names or parties without really knowing anything about the person they're voting for. If they've been in office for 4 years and have done nothing to try and help their constituents then vote them out. Look into their past, their financial and business dealings and their past political and social stances before voting for them.

I live in Massachusetts which normally votes strongly democratic but they just elected a MAGA Trump loving idiot to represent us in the state assembly. People have signs and flags everywhere for trump. Yes many people are also racist, pro-life, and anti-LGBTQ+. Basically anything that is different then they are. Sadly many of the people that would be more Progressive or liberal Democrat in town by their beliefs don't vote, because they feel their votes don't matter. We also have a horrible school system which doesn't teach civics, is poorly funded, with not many opportunities, and you don't need to take US history to graduate which is rare for my state. I'm worried for November

I had to drop some fly fishing tackle off for a disabled vet and he was at the local shooting range so I met him there. Rural, RURAL area, Wisconsin's 'Appalachia' (locals self-refer to the area as The Holy Land, for real) (I lived on the north end, lol). Shooting practice was for short-range/home invasions. An older lady was intensely talking to me about "Those ANTIFA people from Milwaukee" (black folks and other POC, obvs) and how we have to be prepared for them when they came north. She sounded as ridiculous as if she were saying they were seriously preparing for the zombie apocalypse, but she was deadly serious.

Interesting. Didn’t know about Aldean being from Macon, a town of over 100,000. I remember stoping there on a road trip to Florida to check out the Georgia music hall of fame in Macon back in 2008. My one and only time. That maybe a small town to someone from a big city, but not REALLY small enough if you’re trying to prove your “country cred.” Sounds like he’s a little bit like Kid Rock. Trying to play it up a bit.

It's happening in rural Iowa as well, though in a bit more restrained way as we Iowans tend to be. Truth is, it's been happening for decades now. The names of the so called threats may have changed, but the ideology has been building since the late 80's. Which is worse? A portion of our population conditioned to believe 'somebody' is coming for them and theirs? Or a portion of our population so paranoid as to think 'everyone' is out to get them? Sad part for me is knowing that a lot of people I know are so out of touch; so being prodded by fear firehosed at them from the very people that don't give a sh%t for them aside for their votes. Rural America, you are being used and used badly and not by the people you are being convinced are. There's the real reason for the war on Wokness. MAGA owned GOP fears their base actually waking up to the evil BS they are feeding them.

Crowder is a clown which seems to be fine on the right but the left is supposed to be better. We are supposed to value education, credentials and substance in terms of our platforms. There is a reason why you would be laughed out of a high school classroom if you used such material when writing a paper on these topics. He is supposed to be covering sports but thinks he is qualified to discuss public policy and then posts videos of entertainers rather than actual public policy analysis and research yet you think he is gifted.
