I absolutely hated church growing up. It took so fucking long, we'd eat dinner there. I remember one day, we was there for so long, it was like 8am to 8pm 💀and was confused and my family was acting like it was normal even though we had never been there THAT long
Noo I actually do remember my church being that way but after dinner in the afternoon then family & friends would come over so it was a whole day of fellowship lol

Lol, I could understand long services for Good Friday, Palm Sunday, Easter, Lent, Mother's Day, Father's Day, New Year's, Xmas. Other then that keep it no longer than 2.5 hours. I did not like it as much until I started singing in choir and participated, the time would go by easier. Taught me alot of patience and discipline and reading skills because we couldn't bring electronic distractions to pass the time. 1 hr services feel disrespectful to me, like I can't give more time to my spiritual nourishment.
White guy here. One of my best friends growing up was a young man named Khalid Prince. He tragically passed away at 15. Basically his heart was a ticking time bomb and no one ever knew. We were in a church youth group together. Went to two.different schools. But he would always come to my hockey games, i taught him how to ice skate. I would go to his basketball games, and he spent time teaching me how to ball. It was just such a pure friendship. 15 years later I still miss him. His funeral was in a black church and that was my first experience with that. I loved it. And when they had the PowerPoint going of different pictures throughout his life, a picture came up of me on the ice by the bench and he was on our teams bench and we were laughing at something. I never cried so hard. Was just so grateful that I was given a small portion of his celebration of life.

I got called that growing up because I was darker than some kids (even dark skin Black people called me racist things), and I'm a Black American. People just say anything to piss you off and try to put you down for things you can't control. White supremacist rhetoric is really ingrained in some Black people's head. Some people also saw that on TV or whatever and just decided to say it to you because they think it's funny.
i read an op ed from a trans person. her complaint wasn't that he tells transphobic jokes. it's he keeps telling the same transphobic jokes. i love his justification. "i have a friend who's trans. she laughed at that". yes, it's comedy. yes, everyone should expect to be made fun of. maybe when trans people aren't being murdered for being trans, they'll develop more of a sense of humor.
Maybe when black and Asian people get killed for being black and Asian we’ll stop protesting and talking about racism. Let’s be real it’s a bunch of people that get killed just for not being white that doesn’t mean the whole community needs to not have a sense of humor.it’s hard for everyone not just them.
Alot of middle class trans people are happily living life. It's the poor ones who are homeless, s#x workers. But the so-called loving rainbow community isn't about highlighting or mobilising to help this section of their community, their energy is in attacking people for their words. This is something DC hints at, the inconsistencies. He uses the same tactic when discussing "how old is 15 really".
Both black Americans and Africans look down on each other but being an African American I can only speak from my stand point to say it’s weird and disheartening how Africans will speak down on us AAs while being in a country that us black Americans laid the ground work for y’all to even come over here and reap benefits that you couldn’t in your home country.
Thank you. Both sides are wrong and there’s are a lot of misinformation that causes this animosity between the black diaspora. As a 1st generation African decent born in America I literally see first hand how both sides are miseducated.

A significant time in our history when blk people (Africans, Africans born in New World and New World Africans mixed with Europeans) united was in their fight to free themselves in Haiti. I've noticed since then the seeds of negative press against blk people to divide blk people is very strong, maybe to avoid another Haitian Revolution. Just some not-yet fully formed thoughts jostling in my head.
@@crowing3886 I would say middle/upper class black immigrants (especially those coming for tertiary education) have a level of this attitude, African, Caribbean, Latino. But is it as intense as hatred for AAs? It is dislike for the negative stereotype of AAs which is portrayed in the media by "lower" class AAs. US media is very good at broadcasting to the rest of the world negative images of AAs from blkface to lync#ing images even to this day. When this is your only impression of AAs, you will generalize. This is vastly incorrect but it is human. Same side of the coin, US media is very good at portraying only the poor classes on the African continent. What really bothers me to this day is that the US is so anti-AA that the first blk president is half-blk immigrant, the first blk vice president is half-blk immigrant. I'm not AA but even I have to look at this sideways like really? Sure there are many AAs in Government but... It's like the ruling class wants to keep stoking a tribalism fire to divide the diaspora in the US.
