the crowd is dutch and most of them probably dont get american english as well as american humor that well. it always happens when english isnt ur first language.
He does a stand up act where he mentions a school bus and takes the piss out of the people on it, does anyone know where the footage is? I remember seeing it on here years ago.
@ozzylaza damnit this is dutch not german they dont dub their movies and they pretty good in english , but i understand that you have know idea wich language it is
I don't think the whole dutch crowd got it!! I mean most of them were women in their 50's and they probably don't understand english very well!! I'm from Sweden and understood everything and I think Tony Woods is awesome. Seen many of his shows and they all make me laugh as hell!! But I agree this audience was lame!! Hope if Tony goes back to Europe he should come to Sweden, more people would appreciate him over here!
@arbakra theyre all dutch. dutchies understand english really well, but i think thats why its a little harder to make them laugh.. but i thought he was awesome ;) (i'm also dutch)
His other stuff was really much better, but if I recall correctly (havent seen this one yet), but iirc, this was in Amsterdam, and there was a lot of pressure on him
Yeah I get what youre saying but I didn'y say the Dutch people are, only the people in the crowd! I've been to the Netherlands and I know the people isn't lame. But like this crowd, why even go to see this guy if you don't appreciate him? That's stupid and very lame towards Tony Woods and If he came to sweden he would at least get standing ovations from me and my friends. Because he really deserves it to. And no I know that most of you aren't women in their 50's. Again I was commenting the crowd
hm , i dont think that the crowd is stupid because they are not laughing that much. Dutch people just don´t like american humor. We´ve got another type of humor that we like. And that´s ok right ? he wasnt loved here, but i bet people in American are probably dying of laughing
@fromtheatothezz Makes sense to me. Gotta take cultural differences into account. Besides, it didn't seem to me like they were hating it. I heard a fair amount of laughter, but the camera seemed to keep focusing on people that were less than impressed.
@StCazador Not true. I saw him a few times on Da Bounce Comedy Nights in Amsterdam and he absolutely killed. The whole crowd was laughing non stop. So, i guess its just people in Rotterdam who don't know jack about comedy....like soccer. So Amercian comedians should definitely come to Holland, just don't stray too far away from Amsterdam, Peace!
stand up comedy shows wont translate well man , he is funny as hell.....i know english is like the language of the world now, us hegemony and all....but i bet half of the people there dont have like a really good command of the language. Plus i used to have a satellite dish and lots of german channels, and they are notorious for dubbing their movies and everything in their own language. Ud have like stallone speak in german u know, defeats the purpose. So i think thats whats happeneing here .
