I’m using one of these now. It leaks terribly. I’ve taken it apart 4 times trying to fix it to no avail. I’m going back to the PA gearbox next time. The leak is coming from the smaller o-ring that mates to the pump. It needs to be slightly thicker so it will seal better.
@toddluns1 not sure... I haven't tried it... was gust a thought.. might just try and match up an oring or try and add a small amount of silicone gasket to help oring seal
I'm not sure if I got the same gearbox or not. I got the ZGRS1000 Gear Reducer from general pump and I have a 5.5 ts2021 connected to it. I don't know why but either the gearbox or the pump is making a whining noise. No idea what it is or why or if its normal. Pump is working fine. No leaks detected. Everything bolted up just fine.
Just make sure the gearbox oil level is correct. Change thar gearbox oil often about 20 hours of use then every 100 hrs after that. Gearboxes do have abit of a whine to them.
Thanks Robert, A Direct drive system would be turning at 3400 Rpm the pump im working with needs to turn at 1450 RPM so gearbox reducer or belt drive to accomplish this and gearbox works best for my application.
How do you go about sizing the engine when building a gear driven or belt driven pressure washer? Looking for 8GPM @ either 3000 or 3500PSI. Possibly 5.5GPM @ 3500PSI.
Pump manufacturers publish all the pump specifications and horsepower requirements on their websites. Lots of good info. I'm using 14hp gear drive for 5.5gpm builds and 23hp for 8gpm
