I took a series of photographs of comet NEOWISE on July 20th. It was visible on the northwest horizon right after the sunset. During the photoshoot I realized that my camera captured some unusual objects (see 15 ~ 25 sec) which look kind of like meteors but definitely something else as they were showing for over a minute! Meteors usually show up for a fraction of second. I was puzzled at first, and even thought these could be some extraterrestrial objects (!), or perhaps the lab was performing some kind of experiment - sending signals to space station. Guess what these are SpaceX’s Starlink satellites! SpaceX has launched hundreds of these small broadband internet satellites into low-earth orbit as part of its Starlink constellation. I am not sure if Elon Musk ruined my pictures but his satellites definitely made a rare photobomb with the comet!
Timelapse: total 260 images (5 frames/sec) and 15 seconds interval between images.
