A barebones basic way of setting up SDXL Workflow: drive.google.c... Requires: ComfyUI manager (for easiest way of finding custom nodes) WAS suite Derfuu's Math Nodes Quality of life suite
Worth noting for those getting started - some models such as the popular juggernaut do not require the use of a refiner - a good place to start is to copy an output you like, such as the one from fooocus, and check what models/loras and tweaks it uses.
Finally a really well explained tutorial! Most other tutorials I watched don't go into the important details. I'm curious, do you know if it's possible to interrupt (stop) image generation while it's showing the steps in the small preview without actually terminating the whole script? For example if I didn't like where it was going and just wanted to move on to a new queue.
you can set nodes to fixed, that way its only going to work on the nodes that get changed when you queue it up, it does mean manually changing seed numbers but saves time on bigger workflows.
@ferniclestix - i love your videos - so here's a bit of constructive advice: - increase the resolution of the capture and let YT downscale for you - this will remove the moire effect on the bg of comfy due to the lines - your sound levels are way too low according to 'stats for nerds' - you're at 23dbm you should be close to -2 or even less. Just bumb the levels in whatever tool you use to output (resolve is great and free). Thank you for your amazing videos!!!!
sigh, lol, video editing/streaming im new at, one step at a time. the comfyUI SDXL vids are some of my earliest vids and ive improved things slowly with each video.
I think there was no difference between the images, because you missed to set an "end step" on the base. So it completes the image without any leftover noise and the refiner step doesn't create new noise, so it has no noise to work on.
Is Derfuu's Math Nodes called "Derfuu_ComfyUI_ModdedNodes"? Because searching for "math" only brings up "Simple Math" and "ComfyMath" by other authors.
yeh prettymuch, its better to use comfyui manager to install nodes but yeah. prettymuch. However, most math type custom nodes probably have the ability to do the same basic tasks.
@@ferniclestix Yeah, I used ComfyUI Manager, but entering derffu in the search field brought up only that one so I wasn't sure if it is correct. Thanks, your tutorials help a lot getting started with ComfyUI and SDXL.
SDXL refiner and base share the same vae (although each one has an embedded vae, they are the same in that sense) if you were using SDXL base and a 1.5 model as a refiner then its a different story and you would need to be super careful about what vae came from where, but with SDXL refiner and base its fine.
Edit the run_nvidia_gpu.bat file and add -- preview method auto behind standalone-build. Save the file and restart. Now it should show a little previewer at the Ksampler. My complete text in the .bat file: .\python_embeded\python.exe -s ComfyUI\main.py --windows-standalone-build --preview-method auto --enable-cors-header git pull pause
Great to listen while I figure out this new UI. I'm still unclear about what to do with the advanced refiner seed. All the jsons I've seen seem to use the same seed from the base in the refiner, unless I'm confused? Which way should I go - same seed in each sampler or different seed in the refiner?
I use same in both, it gives refiner more consistancy with the final image (less big changes) But as always, its really your choice, experiment and find your own way.
