It was just me announcing that I'll be doing a stage call next week on my discord server. If you wanna hop on there to chat, make sure your Patreon is linked so you don't miss out! This video ended up being the messiest piece of shit I've ever made in my life, but it is what it is. Hope you enjoy. I'll be seeing you guys soon. -Alex
I appreciate you so much for doing this! That was super fun! It was definitely really hard to have to cut out so much from the interview, but it'll be made up for once I post the whole thing.
You hate The New 52 because it ruined numerous characters and squandered the creative possibilities to a large degree. I hate The New 52 because the first American comic books I read were from it, and it set my expectations for how good comic book artwork would be to an impossibly high standard. We are not the same.
@@animevoice17 long story >she got a boyfriend >Her boyfriend doesn't like the fact she has a close male friend so she stopped talking to me and unfriended me on snapchat(as a male, it's understandable. if I had the power I would do the same) >After many months she posted a close friend story about her latest drawings >As a fellow art enjoyer and the only reason we became close friend was because we share the same hobby i send her my latest drawing >"😀i came here for the drawing, it looks :3 now it's time to block you. Bye bye" ;-; like wtf???? A few days ago you msg me on Pinterest by sending me horror gifs and imgs so i thought everything was fine. >Damn it's hard to understand women, they can be cruel and fragile at the same time
@@animevoice17 i said it's a long story in the beginning ;-; first time getting blocked by a girl....... Idk if i deserve it but it surely hurts (then i notice ah lecks new video and all my pain is gone)
15:06 I am a massive fan of Alex Ross. I have three paintings by him! One of them is signed and it so happens to be the Justice League one. I just love the art so much. Call me basic but Alex Ross will always be my favorite artist
Great video. Just disagree about Alex Ross, because his art is corny af and he draws every character - including women - with the same face, which happens to be his own face. Kingdom Come is a great book, tho (kudos to Mark Waid).
Could you please read Ajin Demi-human by Gamon Sakurai. The anime doesn’t do the manga justice and the art and storytelling improves like a caterpillar into a butterfly. Just like slam dunk.
You need to read and talk about Akira next. It is so much more than the film shows. The manga is basically the film, x10000000000 and then some. It's one of the greatest manga reading experiences I've ever had. And after that, ALL of Katsuhiro Otomo's work. Domu, Fireball, Magnetic Rose, and his many anthologies and short story collections.
She's not doing anything crazy like these artists, but man do I love Carmen Carnero's comic books. IMO, she has a wonderful balance between Jim Lee and Alex Ross.
Okay so first of all this is an incredible video and I love the direction you're taking your channel in... But I'm mainly commenting because I just HAVE to share something: So I was casually watching this video when you suddenly mention Chaos Fantasy by Paragonx9. This is a rather obscure song that I absolutely love... and JUST RECENTLY started learning on piano like huh???? It legit stunlocked me for like a good 10 seconds. Coincidence sure is a wild thing sometimes.
2:17 I love this because intentional or not, they perfectly captured the essence of Arkham Asylum, arguably pioneered it. You don’t know how to interpret the atmosphere, you’re uncertain what to think, you are insane, you are IN Arkham Asylum.
Hear me out, try reading some light novels/ web novels cuz it’s usually the next step after reading manhwas lol. Anyways this was a really good video keep up the good work😊
In the comics sphere, the one thing that got me absolutely stuck on a loop of re-reading and re-reading, years before I got my hands on Marvels, was David Mack's Kabuki. There's the black and white volumes, that look nearly "conventional"... until you look at the details and then your brain just goes nuts. And then there's the colour volumes that are just... holy shit. Holy shit. HOLY SHIT! All the goddamn time. And that's even before the story, which is is self-reflexive in such a way that it's hard to say at points what's actually real and happening, and what's memory, dream, hallucination, philosophy... it's so fucking good, man.
Great video! If you really liked the hyper realistic art/war scenes of Berserk you should check out Kingdom by Yasuhisa Hara, but it is much more than war though.
Glad that you chose to cover the arkham asylum storyline. This shit goes hard af👍 Also keep on trucking man, you're videos always bring a smile to my face when I feel like shit.
i am the equivalent of an ipad kid who watches cocomelon 24/7 but somehow the way you do your videos make me want to watch the entire thing despite my terrible attention span
Man I really wanted you to read or make a video about the climber so when I saw your new appload I was like Wtf? 😅 anyways your content's amazing and if you read this, have a good one
I have to thank you for your videos, i watched the chainsaw man video 3 times high as kite just laughing at the absurdity of it all. But somewhere deep inside clicked within me to damn all the doubt and the voice that keeps telling me not to express myself and how i feel and things i see and share them with the rest of the world. In regards to context of this video i guess you gave me courage to climb a mountain of my own. That sequence about climbing mountain cut with seemingly random images. I think it has something to do with the natural urge to grow and keep reaching higher and higher, within the world and within yourself too the ends don't matter food, money or fame it's that journey is the place that matters if you realise for what it is.
The story behind the climber's Creation really reminded me of Ajin a manga which it's author left it after 6 or 5 chapter out of no where leaving the artist to create peak fiction
