Mehcad Brooks completely misunderstand the last question. That his Jimmy Olsen feels different than the original version has nothing to do with him being black. He feel different because he plays him more sophisticated and cool than the nerdy bumbling Jimmy we have seen privious.
They answered that part of the question as well, but he answered the INTENT of the question. Because James spoke at length about how he used to lack self-confidence until Superman helped him through it. So trying to say that he isn't like Jimmy is being obtuse.
I listened to the question again and I can understand why he heard it like he did. But I still don't think that was the intent of this particular question. I personally like his character but I must admit I tend to forget he's Jimmy Olsen, not because he's black, but because he is nothing like the character form the comic book or any other portray of Jimmy. I'm not saying that is a bad thing though. Jimmy is older in this univers so it makes sense that he's gotten more confident and cool over the years.
