The convention organizers took you on a tour? And you were just casually spending the day with Elizabeth Rage and LeonChiro, as if it were no big deal. Did you not know who they were??

There was a lot of amazing treatment for all the guests that was unparalleled compared to U.S. conventions. The hosts/organizers are top-notch. And, in the end, we're all just normal people doing cool stuff. Elizabeth and Leon were super cool, and nice to hang out with. Very sweet people, to say the least.

US comics are too expensive. There is not really a market for them in Ecuador. There are some local artists around the country but young people prefer manga. Yes, there are almost no comics at Ecuador's ComicCon.

I think it's something that needs to be looked at closer. The crowds had no problem buying my books which are well above regular priced comics, and the collected editions or trade paperbacks in Spanish that I found there were WAY more expensive than they would be in the United States. I noticed that there were no prices on the collected editions near the barcode like it typically would be, and they had to look up the prices online. I guessing the prices vary by how many are available.
