Thank you for the review and the comparison! Rode Videomic NTG does sounds a lot better but VM30 is really pack with so much values considering the price.

I've had botho f these mics, the Comica is better. Rode are a good brand but on this occasion the Comica just is a better mic with better features. For a start the Comica has the wireless feature which is a great idea. Also it has an SPL of 130db where as the Rode I believe has an SPL of 105db. You'll find how important this is when someone shouts on set.

Nice Review... Which Microphone is Best to Capture Audio for "Production Filmmaking"
@mattdoesvideo
@mattdoesvideo 9 месяцев назад
For proper production filmmaking I'd say neither. If you'd had to chose one of those I'd go with the Comica. Audio quality is almost the same as the Rode and it's more flexible. Even using it for client podcasts and the audio quality is outstanding but they r OSE to the mics.ost mics sound good if you can get close enough. For filmmaking however you need a more directional mic you can boom with a bit more distance. But your looking at about $2000 instead of $200 then.

@@mattdoesvideo thanks for your reply... I asked not about these 2 mics... lol Which Mic would you Recommend ... Price.. Mid Quality and High/Best Quality...?

Well as I'm not working in Hollywood but only do sitting style corporate interviews I'm probably the wrong person to ask. Schoeps is an industry standard for cinema as far as I know. But you r looking at a $2000 price tag. For everything but cinema I think the Comica VM30 with some AI post processing will do just perfectly fine for 95% of the audience.

Good video, question... If you had a $1,000 and if you had a Canon 90D camera, what microphone would you buy to record audio ? I agree with not wanting the wirless remote one, I don't want to pick up any interferance.

If you want it cable bound take the rode NTG. If you want to be flexible take the Comica. With cable they sound almost identical and most users can't hear a difference to more expensive mics. So not worth spending more. Put the rest of the 1000$ in lights or lenses.

Thanks so much, do you know how to use the Comica ?@@mattdoesvideo

What do you mean? You simply plug it in, set the levels right and it works. Turns itself on and off automatically. Internal camera audio lvls at 1. Mic lvls so you just touch the yellow or so you can hear it good. I usually keep it around 9 or 10 on the mic itself. But you camera has some effect on this as well.

Right and thanks... I am hooking this up to a Canon 90D. That number 9 and 10 that you mentioned that you keep yours set at, what is that for ? I don't plan to use the wifi at all one bit as I don't like it because you can also pick up other sounds. I have mine plugged directly into the camera. After I set it to 9 or 10, any other button that I need to push for this mic to work ? Like the safety button ? Thanks so much. @@mattdoesvideo

@ericques9974 you could but don't have to. As long as the camera audio level is set to 1 you need to figure out what the ideal level on the mic is. It depends on how far the mic is away from the subject. It doesn't matter whether it is through wifi or cable. For me and the way I use it 9 and 10 are good settings. On a boom pole about 20cm away from the subject.

@mattdoesvideo it's the lavalier wireless shotgun microphone. I haven't seen any reviews on it yet. It's on Amazon . Seems really straightforward. I would love to hear how it sounds, especially compared it to the VM30.

A wireless lavaliere shotgun microphone makes no sense somehow. Either it's a shotgun or it's a lavalier. Do you have a link for me?

My first visit to your channel, and it's a very nice, valuable contribution. Some aspects of your approach are simply the best I've seen. I did miss more repeated direct comparison with the microphone reviewed, i.e. after the competitor's sample you could give the in this case Comica chance to come with another comparison point. The ideal sequence would thus be: Comica-Rode-Comica-Sony-Comica-Movo-Comica. In all scenarios (booming, vlogging, voice over etc.) But why are the Germans always so serious? :)) You don't know what I mean? Have a look at this guy. He is your total opposite: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PECyAC-XluY.htmlsi=gXDlZYSUIS3fbLQR
