Bit of advice I would give anyone going for there first time to patts is never tel any girl its your first time - always say its your third or fourth or something as then they will think that you are more aware of the storys 😂 - another thing dont be afraid to use the word NO , going to a bar and before you no it there is 4 girls around you and when you go to leave you may get a shock when you check your bin as drinks can rack up the bill quickly and another thing is check your bin each time after you order a drink so there is no mistakes when you go to leave 😎

Trev, you forgot to mention a point about the bar fine scenario- the best thing to do with any lady in the bar who takes your fancy, is to buy them one drink and then ask if she is willing to be bar fined because I believe a lot of girls will take five or six drinks from you and then decline to be bar fined. You have wasted a lot of money for no result at the end 🙏😊🇬🇧

Many of the young girls don't bar fine in udon thani but they will lead you on for drinks, I know I felang who liked a girl about 19 she worked there 4 months never bar fined only took drinks, this guy bought her 10 lady drinks and bar fined her within 15 minutes she was back in the bar she said he wanted sex so I left I never saw that guy in the bar again and still she hasn't gone with a customer

Solid advice. Guys who have never been here might get a bit jaded hearing all the things to watch out for... but as Trevor mentioned, knowing all this in advance can save you grief. Some have the time of their life in Pattaya. Many of us spend hundreds of thousands of Thai Baht learning these lessons first hand and "the hard way". lol

Thanks for sharing these basic advise The one advise is don't be a sucker to a drink queen, As I was a sucker to this on my first trip in pattaya in trying to win her over. Just get straight to the point in asking her if she wants short or long time, Because as soon as you stop buying her drinks, she will move on to the next customer if she is not interested At the end of the day your on holiday, it's just busniess with them

The truth is she may like you but she likes the sponsor the boyfriend the job ect. She wants it all. Its actually not an attack on you. Your a part of the plan but not the whole plan. A girl’s priority is to provide for her kids and parents back home in the village which most blokes would understand. These tricks are as old as days and have been handed down by generations of girls in bars. It is what it is and this video is an excellent educational video. Lots of blokes play the game so the girls play it back - just like Trev said. Ultimately most bar girl stories don’t end in happy ever after- just a fact of life and this “game”. But some stories do end well - I know!

It is "cruel" to discover that you have been exposed to most of these tricks and believed in them. On the good side it has not cost me more than 1000 but, all together, in many years. Good job, as always! Simple stuff but relevant and important. Next time, I'll go along with that and laugh inside my head. One thing I've learned is to say NO when I don't feel for it. And that was not easy.

Great advice especially if you’ve never been to Pattaya before, been twice before got caught out once went back to the girls bar at the end of the night she rang the bell and i had to buy drinks for all her friends in the bar, shot herself in the foot though i got rid the following day. don’t be put off though there are plenty of genuine ladies but it can be a mine field finding one 😂 See you mid November 🎉🎉🎉

I know there's lies & exaggeration Trev but it's difficult. They have no social security system & they do it coz the have to. I loved being a father & brought my daughter up by myself & made sure she experience everything I could afford & grown up to be a confident young lady. I've been seeing a girl in Pattaya for 3 years, don't sponsor her but when I'm there I invited her two daughters from Esan & put them up I nice hotels & take them to the water parks, shopping, nice food and other attractions and I enjoy seeing them enjoy themselves as they don't have much. Some people may call me a mug but I prefer this to going to the bars ever night .. so people come to Pattaya for different reasons.

fellas just remember something that was told to me by a leading barlady who was the No1 in her bar, "business is business' "you put your money down and we put our panties down simply it's not the big love affair. i've been going to either LOS or PI since 1980 and i've NEVER had a runner or a starfish. SHIT fellas they are working girls,going with blokes is their living. DON'T ASK STUPID QUESTIONS RE HOW LONG HAS SHE WORKED IN THE BAR,BEDDING CUSTOMERS IS WHAT SHE IS REQUIRED/PAID TO DO. there is safety in taking a barlady far above picking up a freelancer,bars [mostly] offer some form of protection,and safe sex should always be the ONLY way to go. another thing to remember negotiate before you pay BF,re-what you require back at the hotel THESE LADIES ARE REAL PEOPLE TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT AND YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE. thats me rant for the year LOL

If you pay a bar fine and a girl tries to ditch you, just tell her you are going to take her back to the bar and get your fine back. Watch how fast her headache clears up because the bars do not like to have unhappy customers coming back to complain. The last thing those girls want is do get in trouble with the bar because they could get fired or blacklisted. Then they are stuck with freelancing work which can be a lot more challenging for some of them.

I would suggest to the new traveler to 1) Find someone you want to be with. Have a few drinks and take her upstairs, or back to your condo and have fun and then say thanks and goodbye. Works every time. I`m very friendly and kind, but I`m not there for conversation about her chickens, family or where she is from. This is a business transaction so, let's get it on!

Guys - listen to this stuff! These wonderful, beautiful, funny, tactile girls are engaged in a ‘battle of survival’. They do not benefit from many of the privileges that we in the west take for granted. If you retire and decide to live over there - then sure, it’s possible to find a long term partner / wife and be very happy. If you are just on holiday - then believe every single thing that Trev is saying, enjoy yourself, have a blast with the girls and in general, stick to the ‘one day rule’ and memories will be made for life!! 30 years of holidays there and I still effervesce with excitement and joy at the thought of returning. Equally, I could tell many many sad stories of ‘broken’ men whom despite being intelligent and in general sensible - fell foul to the enticements of the ‘Thai temptress’ - and lost everything. Be kind, be happy but guys - BE REAL !!

You’re right - it’s all a game. It can be a pleasant game, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. I don’t take it personally for the most part, as it’s just business. I don’t even get too mad about the “buy drink for my friend” game. I just smile and politely decline. If I were in their shoes, I’d probably do the same, if we’re being honest. It _does_ bother me when some poor guy falls for a bargirl and she's the type to wring him dry financially and emotionally. But, that's part of it. All you can do is do your best to make sure it doesn't happen to you.

Video idea: Ok, so now we know they will pull a trick or two, maybe you can tell us how to say no to helping the buffalo out of the well or the sick mum or poor younger sister who's school fees are due? And what about when she shows up at the restaurant with a friend or a "brother"? What happens when you say no? How to go about it? And how to deal with the cold shoulder treatment, crying or screaming fit or whatever else the consequences are of saying no? One more thing, Ive been told that if they suddenly pull the "I don't feel well, I want to go home" trick, you should say "Ok, let's go back to the bar and tell mamasan you are sick and I'll get the barfine back!" Rumour has it her attitude will change right quick.

In "high season" it's usually not a problem, but in "low season" I always have a rule. 1 beer - 1 ladydrink. They can choose freely who gets it. If not you will soon find yourself in a situation where every beer cost you 700 Baht. If they say they only worked there a week, I usually say that the honest ones usually worked there 5 years. If they walk good in high heels, beat the crap out of you in pool and always seem to be immune to alcohol, they've most likely worked there for 10 years. It's funny to hear their explanaitions when you call them on their lies 😂😅

I have had all these stunts played on me for the 30 years I have been coming to Thailand, I even met the sick buffalo in Khon Kean! However, I only let them get away with it when I knew I would not cry when parting with the money ie I could afford it. Reason is that these girls have a very short working life. When they are over 35 finding work gets difficult for them. Very few manage to get decent jobs afterwards. I agree with everything Trevor says, and I just wanted to add this as something useful?!

I went to a bar in Mexico with some people I met. We were drinking and dancing all night long. At the end of the night all the people took off. A minute later I got the bill for drinks people were drinking all night. The drinks were on me all night and I didn’t know it until the end of the night.

Even agreeing to meet a girl in a bar/resteraunt for a drink and natter. Ive gone early, drank a beer and left. Popped off to the bar across the road and waited. Low and behold she pitches up with friends and thats me away out on my own. The other one is she does come alone and texts me. Im on my way, ended up having a beer, 2 minutes. Its not over, soon shes on the phone texting friends who miraculously just walk past and she shouts hello come and drink beer. Beers whisky and the menu load the table. Thats my signal to go to the toilet and slip away into the night. Done it many a time. Its a pure cheek entertaining their friends spending someone elses money.

Women in bars that use the " It's only my 2nd day " line, might well be telling the truth - well some truths, but not all. You see these bar girls will typically get a 1 week, 10 day or 2 week contract, which will get renewed if the bar owner and the girl is happy with the arrangement. However, a girl can easily jump ship every few weeks and the " It's only my 2nd day " is technically true, but they forget to tell you that they've worked in 50 bars.

1:08 - Last year was at Soi Cowboy and was sitting at a Go Go bar until a girl who spoke very good English came up to me and just talked normally, weren't trying to get me to buy her drinks or anything and told me how the bar system there works. Didn't find her that attractive, little short chubby girl who said she's been working there a few years, but she had a fun personality so I was like ok, I'll get another drink for myself eventually. She went back to dance on stage and then out of nowhere I saw on stage this very attractive cute looking girl with perfect long legs even-though she was short. I saw the number she had on and told the girl who was speaking English to me, can you bring the girl who was o just on stage, number .." Couldn't remember 30-something".. She ran to the back room or onto the other level and pulled her out and told her in Thai to go sit with me, that I liked her. She sat down with me very pretty, .. Couldn't speak hardly any English.. Appeared shy.. Then the waitress came and demanded I buy her a drink. So I bought it .. Trying to communicate with her and all I got across she worked there withe 2 days or 2 weeks. So she sat with me, gave me a short lap dance... I guess I didn't offer to pay a bar fine and she went back on stage to dance. Walked around to different bars for a few hours and before I went back to my hotel I stopped to that first spot and saw that pretty one again and she waved hi to me. Now I wasn't looking to take any girl home and wasn't trying to paying a bar fine.. Then I realized after the bar closes.. I could have just waited for her to come out and see if she wanted to hang out / eat etc. Based on Buzzin, if the girl is shy and barely speaks English, she might have less miles on her? 🤔

Don't go looking for a wife. Go to have fun. Leave Thailand in Thailand. When they start asking for money, just say you don't have it or you're saving to return. Eventually they'll stop asking. Treat them with respect, don't be tight with money, and they'll make sure you have a good time. If you are extra generous with your money (like myself), just say you spent it all during your trip, when they ask you after you went home.

More advice is don't think they will be immediate 'tricks' often it maybe a long game esp. If a sponsor is end end result - u will be convinced shes your gf but as soon as you leave it game on - keep an eye out for multiple phones and also the different apps for messaging she uses - its not a bad thing its just what it is and you got to accept shes a bar girl working to make money - if u cant deal with that u will get burnt. You need to be 'less kind' if its ANYTHING about money. Another warning if u do get 'claimed' a jealous thai lady can be an absolute crazy nightmare. Good advice as there is ALWAYS a bf or sponsor... And remember the long game eg. She may go with u as gd to Phi Phi island for 2 weeks but u WILL go home .... Just becareful as it ISN'T your western big city or lady and u will relax and have fun - thays the aim

Married mine because knew the bar owner so believed she was first week. Also she was busy cleaning and serving , more experienced girls go up the ladder. BUT my sister in law has just finished with husband number two, if boyfriend to the village she stays aunties hut and would love house ( SHE HAS TWO AND TWO FORD PICK-UPS) she is a good lady who really looks after her parents but please go SLOWLY guys, plenty of fish in the sea here 😊

Another thing to avoid is the "shopping trip"...go to a mall or market & they spot jeans, shoes, tops,etc etc that they love & could you buy it for them . Example: walking back to your hotel they stop into a Seven Eleven & they load up with chocolates, snacks, shampo etc etc.... best way to deal with this is to say I'll wait for you outside. Why would you go to Pattaya with your wife for vacation? Not dissing you just asking since there's so many good places in Thailand to go to. With that said, the second date I had with my girlfriend she wanted to go to soi cowboy in Bangkok. I enjoyed the look on her face as we walked down.... It was my first time there as well but I knew what to expect. My girlfriend is a traditional isan lady, a school teacher. But traditional or not. I know that she could see the money making opportunities there. I told her sure you can make money here but do you really want to sleep with that fat guy over there, pointing... Or that old ugly dude there with no teeth and splotchy skin? Yeah I didn't think so.... The girls earn their money for a reason. To service guys. If they can get more for less work then they will try.

Over the years I have managed to avoid giving in to all but one of the sob stories for money. The one time I did give in was when I donated a few thousand baht for an "urgently" medical appointment for the girl in question. Two days later I met her again and, Bold as brass without a care in the world she showed me the necklace she had bought with the money. Lesson learned. I do sometimes, with full knowledge of what is going on, give in to the "buy my friend a drink" line if the friend in question is nice looking or a bit of fun. I've had some good times as a result. It's not a scam if you know whats going on. Or thats what I tell myself anyway. My first trip to Pattaya I told every girl I talked to that it was my first time because I hadnt a clue what was going on most of the time. I left with the impression that a fleet of 50 coaches full of girls must have arrived in Pattaya the week before I got there.

I’ve not been there, but have gone to strip clubs for years. I was ware of there “tricks” almost right away. A joke that quite appropriate to this situation; why do men name their whang ? Because they don’t want complete strangers making all their decisions for them. No mater what they tell you, it’s just a polite way to ask for more money. Full stop. That’s it. That’s all. So, your part of the game is to either say yes, or say no, in as polite a way as possible. To answer this question, you have to decide what’s this girls time worth for you. Remember. ITS ALL A GAME. They lie to you, you lie to them. Enjoy yourself, have a good time, and walk away. These girls are magicians, they can make you believe anything if you let your little head overrule your big head. I was in phuket 2 years ago first time there and play connect 4 lost nearly every time. I think everyone knows the what happens you win they get you a drink. You loose you get them a ladydrink. But I came back a year later and practiced everyday online and played them and a lot of different bars and won all the time. They dont like loosing or they switch it up with connect 5. Also if they win they will say buy one of their friends a drink. That can escalate quickly. If that does happen I get them a stronger shot. Like vodka or whiskey, tequila is also most like water for them they have it everday.
