What more could we ask for guys And EA said "No....Not for you Pure real time strategy action Metal ...and cheesy but glorious clips of legendary actors Too good for you" Remember how this game made you feel when you were younger
+Belthazor31 Absolutely. That awesome tense music as the unit blueprints are displayed one after another, showing it's weapony in great detail. The only installation I ever bothered to watch through to the end, and if it wasn't for the unit images then it was for the music :]. Aaah, memories.
I'm ancient so I'm old enough to remember the install of Command and Conquer Red Alert DOS version. So the DOS version had along the lines of the same install instead you were in a nuclear missile silo and every option screen was adding items to the ICBM the last one I think added the warhead. I love Red Alert 2's install but to me nothing will replace that DOS install of Red Alert. Apart from those two game Tiberian Sun also had an awesome install too. In Tiberian sun's install it was like you were sitting at a command console and I liked the blinking lights and the background music, Then at the end it would play an intro video as EVA's voice comes up and installs all the data for all the weapons and buildings and goes over all the events that happened before she says Welcome Back Commander... I think Command and Conquer did this also minus the EVA voice. Still to me Red Alert DOS install was my favorite just cause well your prepping a ICBM.
Meh... Sex isn't that great... Especially if you're fucking a ugly chick... Or if you're a ugly guy... Or if you're out of shape and can't fuck really good... Hard to keep a hard on in those instances... You gotta be a real dirty guy with real low standards to be able to keep it up in those circumstances... And even if you are a good looking guy who's in great shape who's fucking a hot chick... That can still get pretty old. Fucking the same woman over any over again... Especially knowing that you have to put up with a bunch of bullshit before hand. Dates... Terrible romantic comedies that only the ladies like... Ugh... Kind of expensive. You could pay some one for sex but that's also a pain in the ass, expensive, and sort of desperate lol. Basically I'm just saying that sex isn't as great as it sounds... A lot of the time jerking it to porn is better in some ways. Playing a awesome video game on the other hand is the shiznat!
The beginning of the normal working day: 1. Came to work. 2. Poured some coffee. 3. Put on headphones. 4. Turned on Drok. That MCV won't deploy itself by its own!
It sounds like you had/have a good time. Unfortunately at the time of release I wasnt born yet. I had a great time with this game even if i wasnt good at it. After all these years I bought it again and played it. It was a great experience and I was full of nostalgia. Such a great game with a great Soundtrack. This is one if not the best RTS game I have ever played.
I remember my first time squaring off against Kirovs back when I was like, 7. How foolish I was. "Kirov Reporting!....Kirov Reporting!....Kirov Reporting!...." Me: They're only slow-ass blimps. What's the worst they can do? (3 minutes of un-consensual Soviet buttsecks later) Me: ....Shit. Ever since they've been my favourite unit in the game :3
yeah the Kirov's can take a savage pounding.....even the soviet flak cannons that fire faster than the allies AA missile turrets can take a good 30 seconds on just one of those things!
***** I never fancied the Kirovs because they were so slow, but hearing "Kirov Reporting!" always gave me a panic attack, I knew if just one gets trough, it's game over!
Nevaran I just beat my dad couple minutes ago , I rushed him with a demo truck , destroyed his mcv and mining facility , rip money and then 3 kirovs , gg ez win :D
Unbelievable , even as a 25 years old this music still send chills down my spine , I can feel the thrill and shiver this game used to give me, holy shit
The police were at our door one day because our neighbors got into a fight and they were asking us some questions about it. At the same time my brother was re-installing RA2 onto his computer and the police heard "Warning! Military software detected! Top secret clearance require!" and gave us a very concerning look. We then had to explain to them that it was a just a game, and took some convincing on our end but eventually they believed us LMAO yeah never will forget that!
These games often had map packs released that included dozens of maps absolutely free, and the fan community was so active you could spend hours browsing through the extra content available. I remember the mod forums I frequented, there were MANY, and simply how much was going on with the game. There were dozens of total conversions, thousands of art assets, tools, resources, tutorials... Anymore "they" make it almost impossible to make your own content.
+Fentski it is I wonder if there's a way to contact valve and ask them to put not just this red alert 2 game but all the other games in the command and conquer series all on steam.
Whilst I some what agree with you there are other games out there with equally fantastic music, world of warcraft, god of war, Test drive 5 had an awesome sound track, I remember you could put ps1 games in a cd player to play the sound track
As an Allied Player the sheer panic and frustration when you hear either "Kirov airship Reporting" or "Nuclear Launch Detected" I will never forget for my entire life.
For the Union! (yelled with accented voice) For mother Russia (this line was what made me send engineers to Soviet barracks, simply so I could train those Conscripts and hear them talk.)
omfg how many hours did I spend as a kid making survival maps and stuff for this and yuris revenge? The beauty of these games is that they actually still hold up, every few years I'll remember them and go install them again to play for a week or so... Jesus all of these songs are ingrained into my memory. I almost wish someone would make a new sequel to Yuri's revenge. But none of that RA3 stuff, I want fucking yuri back! somehow...
You know, the guy that played Yuri is still active in the film industry. Quite recently, he played the Fuhrer in Iron Sky. Maybe there will be a revival in the future? One can only hope :(
+Tiles Murphy He was at a wedding my mum attended once, she loved Udo Kier and knew how much I loved RA2/YR as a kid so she put him on the phone. Nerd gasmed all over the floor when I asked if he could say something in his Yuri voice: "Adam, there will be no free will, only my will" HNNNNNNNGGGGGG
Ra2 music as you would conceive; has heavy guitar riff offs with a touch of funk rhythm mixed with experimental upbeat and groovy baseline vibes that makes the game more even intensely engaging and enjoyable at the same time. 😁😁 P.S. *it's a nuclear device.
Jesper Kyd goes way back to the mid 80s. I was at 'The Party 1991' by Crystal/Silents/Anarchy where "Hardwired" was released. At that time that one had stunning effects. If you want to go down that rabbit hole, be sure to also look up 'Sanity', or Dierk 'Chaos' Ohlerich
In German: "Ich vermisse eine Bombe, haben Sie sie?" "Hier, halten Sie das mal!" "Ja? Was ist das?" Your three quotes. He also said: "Ivan ist nicht Zuhause!" Must be something like "Ivan is not home!" in English.
What a bad ass upload! Thank you so much for this..... One of the top games of all time. C&C The First Decade. ZeroHour is all star material. "Can I have some shoes?"

Strider_ Killer I've never heard most of those quotes, especially the surrendering ones and the fortified structure ones. (I've rarely heard the under attack ones only a few times. They have so little health they end up dying before they finish the quote)
Man I could never get the game installed back in the day on my crappy comp, but I was like I wonder what happens if I put the CDs in my music player. Did not regret.
@@jericodawsonmarcos7529 because the game cds were basically the same hardware as any music cd, also the devs had the foresight to record the soundtrack in a generic format. Many games back in the day were like this so we could play the music on a music player. These days almost no game is even in physical copy so devs record the music into heavily compressed formats to save space.
@@jericodawsonmarcos7529 there were some game disks (i seem to recall one on PSX, i think castlevania: symphony of the night) would have hidden tracks that weren't able to be used in the game, as well. You could usually find quite a few cool things on the game disks when playing them on a cd player/music player :) good times
Oh! the feeling of launching this game for the first time and hearing that music, then you get into the campaign and hear the rest of the soundtrack, not a moment of boredom, and it fit seemlessly into the destruction I was creating, oh the good old days.
I appreciate the subtle rotating changes in the image between each track, as well as the track title backdrop alternating between the Allied and Soviet loading screens - really nice touch!
Wladislaw S. According to an analysis, the voice was taken from an English-language drill, so while the German is plausible, I highly doubt any of you made the correct answer. :p
Oh dang, forgot about this game, it's been like... I dunno, a decade? Since I played this game, as a child, it was a very justified experience. Should go back to this game for sure.
you two are talking about a flying fortress them things were badass but red alert 3 ****** that up now them damn rocket angles on uprising can beat them its so stupid
This OST is a reminder of the times when you could have a "justified hype" for an upcoming game, because developers would release a polished game and take game creation seriously. We are so removed from that past now, with the likes of NMS and Fallout76 devs have a long way to go before they can recapture those epic times and get trust back. That being said, some devs still do this, its just super rare in AAA titles
MCV: Vehicle ready(New Construction Options) (Building) Grizzly Tank: Ready to Roll, Fire Zone Confirm! G.I: Can't Do! huwahh!!! (Construction Complete) (New Construction Options) (Building) Attack Dog: Rawrf!.. (Construction Complete) (New Construction Options) (Our Base is Under Attack) (Unit Lost) (Unit Lost7x) (Building Captured) (Player Defeated) me playing 7 brutals not in the artic circle...
49:50 when i started playing this game in 2000, while i was watching the loading screen and this music plays, it always played repeatedly from start till end of the music because my PC was so damn slow because i had an obsolete pentium 3 computer but still kinda worked playing this game back then xD
+ishouldbeascientist For me it was fine, too. Except 2 Things: 1st; the voice actiong of the units were not close as funny as in Yuris Ravenge. 2nd: the girls were forced to look super sexy which makes them look cheap in my opinion. I liked the look of Lt. Eva in RA2 without having a short skirt and on open blazer. There were also storytelling problems but I could live with them (e.g. mirage tank and chronosphere without Einstein)
Right before Yuri's Revenge came out this game was buzzin, the chat rooms were FULL, everyone typing alt-num pad shit to get past the profanity filter, god that was great, lol. Then mod maps, choppers with 6 nukes, 500 of those russian zeppelins that had like 4,000,000,000 HP. I want it.
I played this, well, I watched my uncles play this game when I was about 6 or something. Then played it myself throughout my teenage years. And still love it to this day!. This game is a really fun and solid RTS game with an amazing attitude and the cast totally had fun with it too lol.
