We take you on a full tour and performance test of the 28' Makaira powered with twin 225 horsepower Mercury outboards. The high performance hull on this Makaira is designed for serious ocean conditions and with Mercury power it's fast, economical, and enjoyable to operate. We don't know of many aluminum boats on the market that have a hull design quite like the Makaira's. With it's cleverly designed bow entry and Carolina flare these boats effortlessly cut right through chop and swell with ease. Inside you'll find luxurious yacht interior finishes and a comfortable cabin space for passengers. Makaira boats are constructed in New Zealand and are imported into the U.S. by Tom and Jerry's Boat Center in Burlington, Washington.

Thank you dear sir!! For not making this video about storage. As a boat owner I know how my boat responds to challenging conditions. Your video unlike so many others gives the viewer an insight into the boats hull performance. Albeit said the Makaira was not challenged on this day 😊.

Great review as usual Rob! This is a beautiful boat. I don't think I've ever seen a Carolina bow flare on a welded aluminum boat. Wow! The fit and finish remind me of Coastal Craft Yachts whereby you wouldn't know they were aluminum.

The only thing wrong is the port side passenger can't sit or stand forward at the dash. This a real kiwi thing that a lot of their builders do and I don't know why. It's really annoying in rough weather. Other than that, beautiful boat.

Being aluminium, they're easily customisable. Pretty sure you could option it that way.

These boats are nice but they are very expensive. Like buying a Rolls Royce. You don't have to spend that much to get good quality.

I completely agree with you. I priced one out and it was a lot. I will say there isn't another aluminum pleasure craft designed as well as this and as luxurious. The bottom plating is thicker than anything they make out here. I saw their manufacturing video and it is really over engineered. Like you said not everyone needs a rolls Royce fishing boat lol

@@hching6248 I've seen their production videos. I understand they build a really good quality boat. If you have the money and you want the best, go for it. I've owned three boats. What I found is after you own a boat for a while you don't use it as much as you thought you would. Living on a boat and traveling gets boring. You don't need a Rolls Royce. But wanting and needing are two different things.

I've ordered a Gen3 750. The price is twice as much as I paid for a 745 Extreme GameKing. When you are on the ocean price isn't a factor. You want to get home when the weather changes. I am even anticipating taking it out on not so good days. We will see. Yes, the hull is something to take note of.

@@user-ky8zu8ie7u Wow, I know that Extreme boats are pricey but I had no idea that Makaira was that much more. I saw a gen 3 800 at a boat show and it was in the 400,000 range. Oh, well if your caught in big water conditions its nice to have all that quality under your ass. Enjoy. If my crypto keeps going up, I might splurge.
