Good Points! I am also heavy and until now i havent got the Mini to bottom out. The suspension for -i would say- european and US size guys is just perfectly right…. while you here at LOT of claims that even the 66lbs patton is to soft. We all hope that Begode/Extrem Bull will release a bit more torque firmware, it should be easy for them after they proved on the EX30 and Master. All In i would say: Depending that nearly no plastik is used on this wheel and all is metal and a Really good quality, its one of THE best of my 13-15wheels i have bought until now.
@@2cells1pack 🫶🏻 sharing is caring 🫰🏻gotta point it out and share this golden moment with EVERYONE!! Reminding everyone to be careful when turning a blind corner ;)
I have the Patton and really love the torque. But i find it quite top heavy and seems a bit wobbly compared to rs19 and other wheels I’ve had. I was curious if the commander mini is more stable?
All 16" wheels will be more wobble susceptible than their 18/20" counterparts. Commander Mini and Patton both required a little time to acclimate to center of gravity in order to reduce wobbles.
@@2cells1pack I understand. Between commander mini and patton, is either one more stable / less wobbly? With patton, I find it a bit scary to ride seated.
I just rode the Patton again.. i think they're actually closer than I envisioned in terms of torque. May need to do a side by side test as human brains are bad at objective memory recall.
O man you need the upcoming Extreme(pun intended😜) torque as I can hear the CoMini straining gettin you up the climb. Overall, personally I think its a wash btwn the CoMini & Patton as a allrounder with each having their pros & cons. The Extreme is what excites me as I'm looking a dedicated dirt machine. That said, btwn the Patton & CoMini if both were at a similar price point, it would be a tough choice. I think the CoMini maybe a better wheel for those with just one to rule them all esp at the much better pricing. Good stuff
@@2cells1pack Ya the CoMini gettin you up sounds similar to my T4 getting me up a similar climb on dirt. Sorta disappointed the 134v c38 with the advantage of a smaller wheel isnt more torquey
At Dirt Surfer float academy blind corners are a key element to the training coarse 🙄 I was totally grossed out first impressions back when this was announced, but honestly it seems like a great wheel. Will Bradley be carrying these at eevees do you know?
Yeah, I was playing with the pads, tire pressure and pedal angle when the guy came around the corner. Was taken by surprise. I'm not sure what Bradley's plans are
You can only make the suspension more stronger and make the rebound slower. On both lowest settings, i mean most soft suspension amd most fast rebound this wheel for me, a 100kg guy, does not bottom out at all and is exacctly right, not to soft, not to hard. The shocks definitely have more power than the 66lbs Patton….
The Commander Mini is way way better than the overhyped, more expensive and slower Patton . I don’t see it as an underdog at all. It’s just the better wheel.
I see it as an underdog because of the fact that ExtremeBull is put in a limelight compared to the LeaperKim/Begode brands. It doesn't get the same love and attention that the other two get.
So the 134v vs the 126v of the patton.. mean shit ? Like.. is it only the top stpeed what you gain with a 134v ? I thought 134v meant more torque. Im confused now.. why is everyone so obsessed with 134v ?
I have found that there is no way to avoid it. The rubbing against the inside of the battery packs was quite severe. The tire turns much quicker, but is also less stable while cornering at higher speeds. I had to hold on for my life while the death wobbles took over. I was able to ride it through, but I was quite shaken up through the experience. The OEM tire seems to have more road contact, but harder steering.
good work you two... excellent conclusion.. patton = soft tech. trail riding Mini = everything else minus that 10 percent soft cushy Tech Trail riding the build quality looks amazing for the Mini... really interested in it keep up the good work
If I am reading between the lines right - this is yet another Begode 16" wheel that lacks starting torque. Notice as we go up in voltage we lose more and more off-the-line torque, which seems counterintuitive. Why does my Tesla V2 and Nikola 84v have so much more snap than my T4? (don't say tire diameter - my Nikola has true 12-3 moped tire. Also don't say pedal height, because the Nikola has lifted pedals.) Let's see if they get the C40 Extreme right...
we lost responsiveness becuase of battery safety. Wheels prior to the RS were not software capped in current which was a leading factor of battery fires.
Also, I noticed today that commander mini is using old style voltage - where the patton is using current mode similar to ex30. This could be the difference in response.
It can be pain finding the right tube, especially if you need a forty five degree angle valve, they can be expensive from the manufacturer ie begode, would you do a tubeless tire convertion on your channel to a newer wheel. Marty did one on a mten but i was hoping to see it done on a larger wheel. Gives people other options, i m going to be doing one on my ex20.
@@2cells1pack I was just related a story of someone who had a tubeless tyre and was on a track and the tubeless tyre came off and he got wreaked, think I won't go down that route after all lol
Great review BTW! I’m looking at the Patton and I’m 5’11”/ 205lbs w/o gear. Not sure what you weight but did the 66lbs spring still bottom on you? I appreciate your help. (Ps great v12 wheel change video and I refer it all the time)
We have compared them. Shinko felt a bit unstable at first, but after lowering the psi it got a lot better. In the trails, there were times that the road tire struggled for traction but the shinko didn't skip a beat.
I don't understand. You say the patton is much more responsive and torquey yet all the other testers say that the mini is more powerful and has a better ride than the patton. I WAS gonna get the patton. Regardless of the price the mini has better specs. This is the first "first" impressions where the response was "bleh" on the reception of the wheel. You both didn't seem too excited like the other riders were. I just find that interesting.
A lot of it has to do with relative perceptions. We rode commander mini after Patton and ex30. Didn’t feel that the wheel was mind blowing, but maybe we are just spoiled. I do think the commander mini is better bang for buck than the patton
