I have a Nekusar too very similar. Lots of fun to play but a massive glass cannon and absolutely horrendous if opponents begin to steal your Nekusar et al!
@ 34:42 the Stonehewer Giant would indeed have been destroyed my Merieke. Look at how her ability's trigger is worded. As soon as she taps and hits a creature with her ability it is forever marked with the untap-destroy trigger.
Elder Dinosaur Highlander next week? I say that because they(Stephen) specifically said EDH. The only Commander VS episode that is/was labeled as EDH was when they played with the original Elder Dragons excluding Chromium(the WUB artifact dragon with rampage 2). Unless they are doing that one again, my guess is Elder Dinosaur Highlander.
This was a fantastic game. Great decks everyone. Now, I wonder if they're gonna play Elder Dragon Highlander or Elder Dinosaur Highlander next week O_O
34:34 When Justin untaps Merieke Ri Berit shouldn't Stonehewer Giant be destroyed since it was targeted by Merieke Ri Berit's ability (even though control was changed by Gilded Drake's ability)?
This videos a little old, but as a seasoned merieke player, they made quite a few oopsies in regards to her ability, most notably that, even if control of the creature is taken away from Merieke, the delayed destroy trigger still exists. So as soon as he untaps mereieke, Stephan would've lost the Stonehewer
Next theme to plan for: decks that reflect what the players hate: Justin - RG Doge (with that commander) Steven - WUBR Breya deck (it's not Green) Jeremy - Some red deck that plays a lot of random spells (one of those cards will kill him) Jon - I don't know
Umm... I've looked at the deck lists published and Jonathan's Rafiq deck only has 98 cards. Is this it's been published wrong or did he only have 98 cards?
I think Steven should do an impersonation of Frank Underwood in House of Cards at the end of the season because he got this grand scheme to collect all the points hahahaha
As soon as I saw that Jin and Rafiq of the Many were gonna be in this I thought "oh man, this episode is gonna be goood 😁" (Mostly because up until today I had never heard of Rafiq, so I thought "hey, a card i've never seen before. This should be interesting"). But then Merieke showed up as the fun police 😒. But the fact that you guys wound up trolling Justin with the Doge card was priceless. 😂
I think there should be a royalty commander Vs, sliver Queen, Queen Marchesa, Oona queen of the fae, savra queen on the golgari or a choice of - King Macar, Brago king eternal, tymaret murder king, Sedris the traitor king, Darien king of Kjeldor, Brimaz kingof oreskos or something along these lines, this is where I'm told it's already happened
At 1:06:00, you had double strike on the beast token but only triggered the sword once and dealt damage once. Unless you missed the double-strike trigger for attacking alone.
justin wins with Jeremys cards, shows the utility of that deck style. id say add in a few more cards that get value from discarding too. theres a few. 2 damage per discard...juicy. seemed like just an unlucky game for Jeremy. that deck has some power
At approx When Merieke goes to take control of Nekusar and Jeremy puts it into the command zone. You can only replace into CZ if it would go to graveyard, exile, hand or library right? So Justin should have taken control.
Yeah I just looked it up because this confused me as well. A creature going under someone else's control is NOT a zone change, so you do NOT get the option to put it in the CZ.
Then this magical man beguiling Justin’s fancy into smiling By the grave and stern decorum of how he found himself in bind, “Though thine points are most uneven, loss, for you, I do believe in, Ghastly grim and ancient Stephen, reading from the text remind Tell me what thy lordly spell is to be cast perhaps entwined!” Quoth the Steven, “Nevermind.”
This Jeremys deck would be really sweet with some taxes cards on it. Its a great deck, but allows opponents to play the cards they draw. So... but gg. Really nice episode
I have not finished the intro, but just looking at the commanders, i feel another deck justin theeme comming on... one shotting jeremy >_> Rafiq is a beast
Hey guys love the show been playing magic since 2013 when I was 8 and yalls show has been so fun to watch over the years thank y'all and keep doing what y'all do
I jumped to the timestamp and saw the All is Dust and was both confused about when it jumped to 65 and excited that I might finally see a return on the box of MM2 I bought. But naturally, that wasn't the card so all is right in the world lol
I'm starting to convert from Team Parnell to Team Green just cause of the janky decks we get. Also, after last weeks come back who can't root for the people's champ?
Was Justin's Evil Twin a copy of Rafiq of the Many when his Beast token attacked Jon alone? So, Jon should have been at 7 less life ((5+1 exalted)*2 double strike = 12, instead of 5), which means that when Justin is deciding who to attack at 1:35:00, Jon should have been at 10, unable to block, with one Island untapped. I'm glad that Justin still won, but Jeremy might have been robbed of a point there.
Why does Bloodchief Ascension include the clarification "(Damage causes loss of life)"??? Like... When or why would someone need to be reminded of, like, THE most fundamental idea in the game?
Kangaroo is delicious but yeah you have to essentially eat it almost blue on the inside otherwise it’s way too tough and chewy. Enjoy the content and like hearing Southern voices! Reminds me of home despite being on the other side of the world.
No, because it returns the card under YOUR control: At the beginning of your end step, you may exile target creature you control, then return that card to the battlefield under your control.
