Jeremy had it on his turn at 1:10:00, all that he had to do was not enchant omnath with the bear umbra, and instead animate his six lands, then enchant one of them with bear umbra, swing two at each player, bear umbra untaps all lands on attackers, tap all lands, add 132 mana, activate kamal's ability 22 times, and hit each opponent for a total of 138 damage per person.

Unfortunately Jeremy never sees those lines of play. It breaks my heart, if I see him throwing away a good turn like this. Why not respond on a Wrath by animating his opponents lands with Kamal? Well, you might argue, this is a casual game and LD is kinda bad sportsmanship. I have seen him in the past playing Maelstrom Wanderer, where he had a Jace, the Mind Sculptor and some spicy cards in hand. He could have played Jace, Brainstorm, cast Wanderer for Profit, but he didnt see... Well, I do make mistakes, too. I know the complexity of Mulitplayer Commander, it just hurts if you see it...

Jeremy, at 1:20:00, when damnation was cast, you could just turn every opponents' land into 1/1s in response with Kamahl, armageddoning them. Of course, you could also win the turn you played Kamahl by animating 6+ lands, enchanting 1 of those with the "untap all lands" aura, attack and overrun several times.

Justin also missed killing Jon right beforehand. he could have activated Saheeli's +1 to create a servo and bring Akiri up to 10 power which would have killed Jon with Commander damage

It'd be interesting to do a 4 player game with the same commander and see how differently people build the deck. Probably a commander that has various builds rather than being pigeonholed of course.

ZM 9Lives That would be either infect quickly runs over everyone, or superfriends combo off. Other archetypes cannot compete, if everything is build good enough.

Gilded Lotus + Deadeye Navigator + Lightning Greaves = infinite mana + Infinite abilities for Mairsil. With Jace's Archivist = full draw of deck. Stephen could've won.

Jeremy punts HARD every game. He should have a better understanding of how game mechanics work before being on a show as big as this. It's not right to the fans. It just keeps annoying us

TheDreno33 Maybe he sees those lines but decides not to take them? It's a Show After all and there is a lot more to it that makes it entertaining than trying to win ASAP. Also a lot of different things people want to see, some might want to see people go as hard as they can, but some also just want to see the commander craziness.

During John's turn around the 35 minute mark, I believe he plays 2 lands, he starts the turn playing and cracking evolving wilds and then he ends his turn playing Dimir Aqueduct, right?

I had an idea for a future episode. Since there are 4 of you, and 4 mono-colored Legendary Creatures from Coldsnap, maybe you could each grab one and build a deck around it. Just a thought.

the turn where Justin killed Stevens greaves, the Mairsil should have not been able to activate abilities anymore since it lost haste.

Jeremy could have killed everybody after the wheel right?. Just play Kamahl animate couple of his lands and attack everyone. Am I missing something? Maybe wanted to make the game more fun? To be exact: Tap 5 lands for 12 mana each = 60 -> 6 for Kamahl = 54 -> Animate 6 lands for 1 mana each = 49 -> overrun 9 times. Now he has 6 28/28 attackers with trample. Sending 2 at each opponent makes him even okay against Mairsil trying to save anyone at all since even one creature connecting on anyone is lethal. He could even put Bear Umbra on one of his lands to force Stephen to use Mairsil (if the trigger were to resolve the 144 extra mana would translate into another 28 overruns and 504 damage) and clearly attack.

Justin even said he had a full hand at that point so he'd have to discard. Also Silas doesn't really add that much to his table early on as his ability is based on artifacts lying in the graveyard ;)

At 1:19:00 stephen tapped mairsil to make a token but he no longer has haste from boots so he should be summoning sick because he was cast on his last turn right? Or am I just missing something

In my experience akiri and thrasios works better for the Voltron combo route. Just get infinite Mana, draw your whole deck and cast enough big dudes to kill everyone

Tyler Gaither I like being able to use Demonic and Vampiric Tutor as additional tech for the voltron combos. I set the deck up to make Akiri unblock-able and make tons of axe & treasure tokens and equip for free. In my edh league they don't allow infinite combos or you lose more points winning matches. If they did allow it, i'd rather run a turn 3-4 win con deck using Tymna & Thrasios.

So I think one of the way mairsil would have won, knowing few of the cards stephen had in hands was instead of straight up exiling the archivist, exiling the lotus, equip, add 3 red, return to hand, play, exile the archivist, equip, windfall, untap, add 3 black, return to hand, and do some more shenanigans until he finds a tree of perdition and an hateflayer ( 1 mana per recast, and 1 mana per windfall until he exiles other mana rocks and ways to untap). Or something to win ...

This is why everyone needs to team up against the Yuriko deck from the beginning, because she's really disgusting in multiplayer. If you don't hold her down she'll kill the rest of the table out. Or play blockers, JEREMY.

In my 32-deck challenge Mairsil is my Grixis commander. I love that deck. Mairsil is just an extremely unique take on a voltron style commander. I think the table was just lucky that Stephen never drew Nev's Disk.

I’m not sure if I’ve seen you guys do this theme before, but I’d love to see you guys play Plane themed decks. Cards in each deck must be from the plane that you’ve chosen. An example is if you choose Ravnica you can use Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest since he’s from Ravnica even though he was printed in a Commander set

When Justin killed the Lightning Greaves with Meteor Golem, Mairsil loses haste. Stephen kept right on using abilities with him, even though Mairsil has to start its turn on Stephen's side before it can use any more tap abilities again. He used it to put a Pincher into play and then draw three cards, neither of which he should have been able to do.

@40:26 Stephen should have discarded Wheel of Fortune to his Frantic Search. He also should have cast Demonic Tutor for Reliquary Tower.

Yeah, at some point Stephen could probably have put a cage counter on the gilded lotus, then the deadeye navigator which with boots gives infinite mana and infinite card draw (with arcanis) and infinite cage counters (essentially winning the game).

Atraxa duel! One does lvl up, one does +1/+1 counters, one does charge, and one could do super friends. No infect because that would be a fast duel

Gonti at the end of game against Justin was just savage. Justin and I both love Gonti as a matter of fact I play with a signed copy of Gonti by Justin. However that was a great ending.

Stephen made the deck look cool, but was a little lucky to have cavern harpy in his opener. looking at the deck list there's only 3 ways to bounce/flicker mairsil. which is probably too few if you need that effect to make the commander "go off"

Honestly this was one of the best episodes, if not flat-out THE best of the season. I'm not the kind of player that reaches for cards like Mairsil but now I really want to build a Mairsil shenanigans list 🤔

At 1:19:03 Mairsil no longer has haste and would be summoning sick so his tap effects could no longer be activated when lightning were destroyed.

1:19:23 stephen tapped mairsil after the boots had been destroyed, it no longer had haste. so he couldent have tapped it for effects.

Being a Mairsil player, I can vouch for Stephen here. Mairsil has a high learning curve. And yes I am pretty sure he had infinite mana potential for a long time.
