FYI Rayami's effect is a replacement effect ("If a nontoken creature would die, exile that card with a blood counter on it INSTEAD.") so mimic vat does not see anything die and can't exile it from the graveyard.

It then cuts away and when it cuts back, he puts his deck down at 1:03:30 So not two points, just one, even if we don’t see exactly when the search resolves.

For anyone curious. When God eternal Kefenet got path to exile, you resolve all the effects of the Winds before kefenet's trigger goes off. So you would grab a land then put him 3rd from the top.

(Wrong) It's not a trigger, but a replacement effect. Edit: remembered the card wrong. It is a trigger.

@@dutch6247 Sorry, it is a replacement effect, but the effect happens after winds resolves, so kefenet will still be third from the bottom

@@dutch6247 I actually always wonder whether or not to say to my playgroup that it is a trigger. They are all great players, but none of them ever noticed it was a trigger not a replacement effect so I managed to sneak a couple of the gods under scavenging ooze or scrabbling claws.

In fact he kind of lost a point, by letting the person in first place get an extra point. That's one more point Stephen needs to earn to climb the latter to first.

Bearded Jeremy is the second most dominant player in Commander VS series, second only to Director Kyle, who does what he wants cause his points don't matter.

34:33 for John's Kefnet. You have to resolve the entire effect of Winds of Abandon, so your creature gets exiled, you search your land and after finishing the Winds of Abandon effect, you get the delayed trigger of Kefnet dying or going into exile.

The way triggers go on the stack are 1. DRAW A CARD 2 . THEN EITHER MADNESS OR UNTAP 3. OTHER OPTION OF THE TWO So you resolve the madness or untap trigger. But you can to the draw trigger if anje is untapped as manay times.

I enjoyed everything about this episode, except what Justin did. Or didn’t do. I’ve never laughed so hard at someone casting Lightning Bolt. That was beautiful, Stephen. “Sneaky Powerful.”

Justin played super poorly this game. The turn after he got his birthing pod blown up he should have played his commander and enable flying first strike and haste on him with the land to make it a dangerous threat out of the zone. Instead he got super greedy for no reason and lost everything.

@@GamerdevilPro Honestly the Birthing Pod itself was super greedy from where I was sitting. He did nothing with it, leaving it out there as a juicy target, which cost him 4 mana. Instead that 4 mana could have been spent on Rayami, and he follows with the Pod next turn for the maximum value. Just dropping Pod and doing nothing was a pointless flex that was asking to get punished.

Good episode and good play, I really like the way you guys handle the game and politick it makes the games always interesting. The points system is genius as it eliminates some of the toxicity and you guys are always close at the end of the season. Good content

53:17 the creature would always be exiled by rayami as that is a replacement effect. Earlier in the game jon's kefnet would have been 3rd from the top as Winds had to finish resolving before kefnets trigger

When Stephen activated anje with the anje's ravager, he was not suppose to draw the card first. The way anje works is the same way as a dies trigger on a creature as you sacrifice to pay a cost.

anyone who knows can correct me, but if you copy a Ignite the Future, isn't the "cast from graveyard" included in the copy as a last known information?

Znikch I have a feeling the answer is no even though it's a copy. The reason I think it's a no is piece if you resolve the spell in order after "...you may play those cards." It starts the next sentence. So after you exile the top three the card THEN checks where it was cast from. I don't think it's a true copy in this case

you mean kefnet? Kefnet reads "When God-Eternal Kefnet dies or is put into exile from the battlefield, you may put it into its owner’s library third from the top"

I normally feel like I would love playing with Stephen but after this game I feel like he was being a complete cheaty face after he didn't offer up the mimic vat exile to the Kroxa that he sacrificed but never put in the yard. Seemed like a real manipulative way to win.

xeoph I'll put it simply, it's your job to keep track of your permanents not mine. In legacy it's common for people to try to play a card that would be countered by chalice of the void because chalice is a trigger. Therefore if you say "yep it's good" you can technically play things with a chalice on the board

he discarded an anger to hand size SUPER early in the game, and no one exiled his GY so he had it there, I'm guessing(not quite done with the episode) throughout the episode.

Winds of Abandon won Stephen the game... he got 7 lands and never looked back after that, he just had unlimited resources. That card is just not good, unless you are actually going to win then turn you cast it, or if you are playing stax to lessen the terrible side effect.

@1:01:21 Stephen says he's "going to respond to this trigger" and points at Mimic Vat. Then says "I'm going to Lightning Bolt you (Jeremy)". If Stephen cast Lightning Bolt in response to Jeremy activating Mimic Vat, then Niv-Mizzet, Parun is not on the battlefield and does not see Lightning Bolt being cast so Jeremy would not be able to deal Jeremy 1 point of damage.
