Hey Garish, just wanted to shout-out and say thanks. Your speedruns have motivated me in life and in Halo. Your happy go lucky attitude, determination, and execution are what helps drive me. I always liked CE, first getting it at a discount 3 years after it came out. Coming across you a year or so ago, I run the game with a friend (for fun, our segmented best is 2 hours) and refer to your videos for help. Your commentary is great and informative. Keep it up champ. I do appreciate and hope to catch a stream at some point. Cheers.
28:30 The reason AotCR has the end trigger loaded from the beginning while other levels break if you try to skip too much is because AotCR has an intended skip. You’re supposed to be able to grab the final Banshee sometimes, it was in the XBox guide. Other levels didn’t expect you to skip, so they break if you try.
Partly. It has to do with the fact that you end the level by interacting with a button which is part of the level bsp rather than walking through a trigger. You break the level triggers when you do bridge fall/banshee grab at the beginning but the bsp still loads in even if you skip all of the enemy spawn and checkpoint triggers.
In my 20 years of gaming; Getting the "Goat roped" achievement was the hardest thing I've ever done in the video game sphere. And I have you to thank for your speed run videos, couldn;t have done it without you.. you're a freak at this game, keep crushing it dude.
