If GSD allergenic with chicken?

Strange - my dog suffers for about one month (June) every year. Exactly 4 weeks after his vac. Last year they tried to up from lepto 2 to lepto 4 and he suffered seizures - the vet said he had a reaction to it. This year I made sure = just lepto 2 - no distemper and other stuff - and so far (fingers crossed) I have not had any of the usual scratching. I will be keeping my eye on it - but it is worth keeping in mind when an allergy seems to come just after their jab :)

My 10 week old pup is suffering badly with itching and eating himself badly he's lost so much fur I've been to the vets and they say it's a flea alergy but I'm not sure he lived with cats and other dogs prior to me getting him could he have mange mites I've changed his food bathed him iin prescribed shampoo and anti imflametaries with no releif can you help

Hey Gordon, thanks for watching! We recommend always chatting with your vet when it comes to health concerns with your dog. It might be a good idea to go back to them and chat it through again and see if you can get to the bottom of it. Hope things improve!

@@emfriesen6719 you say that I have a 12 week old GSP and I’m giving him some dog food that has chicken in it and he has had diarrhea ever since we brought him home and so I’m changing his diet can I see I think my gut is telling me he might have an allergy to chicken as well so I’m glad I seen your comment.. I ask what you’re feeding your baby now and has that helped with the itching?

@@emfriesen6719 I have a 12 week old and I’m giving some dog food that has chicken in it and has had diarrhea ever since we brought our fur baby home..so I’m changing their diet , my gut is telling me he might have an allergy to chicken as well so I’m glad I seen your comment.. May I ask what you’re feeding your furbaby now ?and has that helped with the itching? advice for soft mushy Poo other than trying to change their diet? Is there anything fresh raw that I can supplement in their food? Giving pro - pectalin times a day till it’s gone..

GSD had 3 seizures as a 4 month old... All about a week apart. We watched him carefully for any more signs of having any more, we thought he had grown out of them. He would start by his mouth watering excessively. Whining and acting very confused. Then diarrhea and he would run outside and just whine. So hard to observe. One year later, out of the blue, he started the excessive watering of the mouth and then whining. Immediately had to poo. My husband tried distracting him by running him and letting him smell. He kept his tail between his legs, but he handled it much better and it didn't last as long. Going to have to take him to the vet.

@@Randaddy25 thank you for asking! He ended up having a pretty bad ear infection. Idk if that's what caused him to have the seizures but since the ear infection was treated , he has been fine and will be 2 years old in October. He's such a good boy and so fun .... Never a dull moment with our Big Boy 🐶🐕🐶🐕❤️❤️❤️

Allergies are largely contributed to vaccines!
