The craziest part is that it is not obvious at all while watching this on a computer screen! I totally believe you that it looks terrible in person but this just kinda shows when watching beauty channels and influencers online they can really tell you any product is amazing and have no techniques. I think it makes it more important to watch and learn from people with credentials and true experience, like Nikki. Thanks for the tips as always!
Thank you for this video! I'm 3 months away from turning 52. The under eye area is definitely something I struggle with. I never thought of putting a serum underneath my eyes for prepping! I will definitely try this method. Thanks again!
I actually never really thought about using just a serum either. I've been using the Niod FECC for a couple of weeks, but under a thin eye cream. I plan to try with just serum...
Im 29 and I have a lot of creases and dry skin under my eyes. Loved hearing about your tips. Btw I just found out about you. I used to watch a lot of makeup tutorials and videos but left that in 2016. Since becoming a mom of 3 I bought my first expensive makeup because I tried out a looooot of drugstore makeup but the most cheap ones. Never tried the midclass but I’ll watch your videos and follow your advice because THANK YOU. You explain it so easily and in depth that I trust you 100% ❤
I’m so thankful you made this video! I’m 59 and have a lot of trouble with concealer. I tried your tips on applying HA under my eyes before concealer. Then let the concealer dry down for about a minute before patting it out. Then applied setting powder like you said. It’s like magic! It worked! No creasing, moving or looking dry. Yay!!
I'm 22 with under eye creases due to extremely dry and eczema-prone under eye skin. This video was just what I needed! Dry under eyes that are severey sweaty - I could find no way out. Thank YOU SO MUCH. I can't wait to try these tips. I will report back on how it goes, for sure!
Got my brushes yesterday and I can't wait to play with them! Your tips have helped me so much. I can't thank you enough. Would you consider making a video about water-based foundation compared to silicone-based foundation? Who and what they're best for, applications?
Thank you SOOOO MUCH! I'm still learning (at 56), and was JUST practicing last night! It was a horrible horrible experience AND look😂! Just what I needed to see❤
LOVED this video. I'm playing catch up and going back to watch videos I missed. Thank you for all the time you take to educate us on proper "procedure" and do's and don't's. I could watch your videos all day (and do sometimes when medical issues keep me inside)! 💜
Thank you. I recently found your channel and I am learning so much from you. You are a wonderful teacher, and your makeup always looks amazing. I have been struggling to figure out my undereye creasing problem. I am so grateful for the time you took to make this video. Thank you for creating your channel.
🙂Hi Nikki, You explain things so clear and the tone of your voice is pleasant. I enjoy listening to your videos they are very informative. You give off calm vibes. Thank you✌🏼
Nikki!!!!! This video couldn’t have came at a better time! I bought the Givenchy powder, Huda concealer & Haus Labs foundation because of you and I got home & said whelp. Now what do I do?! Setting my concealer was exactly where I needed help so this video nailed it!!! Cheers to keeping my 50 year under eye skin looking flawless 👌🏽💓 thank you so much! Cant wait to play with my base tomorrow
THANK YOU for this video. My under eyes are where I’m the least confident in my makeup application. I’m 37, so I’m at the age where the fine lines are so much more prominent. My past routine isn’t doing it for me anymore. This video was very helpful!!!
This was great information about what kind of under eye prep would keep your under eye looking great all day. I can hardly wait to use your brushes from BK!
Hey Nikki! I'm not new to makeup, but I'm new to "more makeup" and trying to be very intentional with how and what I'm applying. Your videos are a Godsend! Love all the information! Love to you and Mitch!
Thank you Nikki! Your videos are so helpful and appreciated. 52 and im no longer recognizing the face in the mirror. I come from the generation of maximalism, more is more. I'm trying to adjust my makeup with the changes in my skin. Its been challenging to say the least and i am thankful for all of Nikkis tips!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Nikki, you are the best and everyone LOVES YOU! Your teachings have helped me to look my best when I walk out the door at 72 years young! Keep these coming girl……
Thankyou so much. It was really informative. Was struggling with lot of creasing , my prep with very heavy. Will definitely switch my prep for under eyes
This was super helpful Nikki! My under eye wrinkles are more apparent in the dry winter months so I have to be careful with powder. I’ll try loose powder and apply it using your technique. Thank you!!❤
Thank you so much for this video Nikki, I was literally searching for this type of video today. I knew I wasn't prepping my under eyes correctly but had no idea how to fix it. Thank you for the tips.
Thank you for this tutorial! I always thought it was the actual concealer that causes creases. I’m definitely excited to try out your techniques! How would you layer sunblock under the eye + make up?
Thank you for these tips! I need to start wearing concealor and these tips are helpful! And I think I know why my serum pills when I apply my sunscreen - I'm not letting the serum absorb before going in with the next product.
I’m 28 and have a lot of fine lines under my eyes which causes major creasing throughout the day. I’m going to try these tips, because all along I listened to other influencers who said just bake under there. Never worked, so hopefully these tips help 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was really helpful as I have a lot of lines under my eyes and creating because of that. I was wondering if I can use the Huda Beauty East bake & snatched Pressed powder to set my under eyes.
I love these tips! I typically only use eye cream at night. For my morning routine, I use hyaluronic acid all over then moisturizer/sunscreen. I still struggle with creasing. Sometimes I feel like I might be too dry. I try to pat my concealer which helps a little but it still seems to settle in creases right below my eyelid. I'm 58 so maybe I'm just destined to have this happen. :(
Nikki, I’ve been waiting for this video!! Thank you so much. I typically use the Charlotte tilbury finishing powder for under my eyes. I do have very dry under eyes and my concealer always clings to my dry patches and it separates. I’ll try switching to a loose powder. Any other suggestions?
How do you use a color corrector, Nikki? Do you also have to let it sit for a little bit before going onto the next step? Any advice on placement for color correctors under your concealer? Thank you so much!
I'm watching this after viewing your marathon try on of drugstore concealers. I feel like I prepare my skin properly, but I haven't had total success finding an affordable under eye concealer that works for my mature and dry/sensitive skin. I was retrying some of my concealers while watching that video and between items I prepped my eye area with one of my K Beauty serums instead of the eye cream by the same brand. I found it worked so much better, and your expertise in this video confirms that❣I added a couple of your top suggested concealers to my try list. Thanks! I want to try the Huda Beauty powder but both Cupcake and Cherry Blossom shades are out of stock lately. Do you think Poundcake or Sugar Cookie would work for my light but almost medium skin tone?
Interesting, yes helpgul Nikki ..I have stippled under the eye for concealer, howevee I have watched you use one of those black or eye have I think pink like triangle things from Amazon, and put it similar just like you showed. Sometimes its okay , and at times it doesn't...i am getting a little better ...took me tome ❤ appreciate You ! Blessings 💞❤
This was 100% helpful! That's exactly the mistake I was making. Just the over applying too much eye cream thinking more is better bec it would be so hydrating, right? Nope, it never looked good & now I know why. How do you prevent pilling when applying skincare, sunscreen & foundation? Thku😊
Nikki, thank you for this video! Quick question for you about hyaluronic acid/serum. Don’t you have to hydrate the eye or skin first before adding a hyaluronic acid? I thought you’re not supposed to put hyaluronic acid on top of dry skin? Thank you so much.
Yay! I’ve been doing the correct steps! 😃 But do you still recommend using a triangle puff to set the undereyes? I got some on your recommendation and I love using them 😊 By the way, you don’t need concealer on your undereyes whatsoever! You have zero dark circles! A little bit jealous 😜
Hi Nikki, I think you read my mind with the subject of your video. I recently have watched makeup application videos, and some are actually using 3 different powders. I thought, "Do I really need that many different powders?!?" Can't I have just one to use under eyes and on my face? Also, recently, many are using puffs, instead of brushes for setting the undereye area. I get so confused, I wish I could find a self-setting concealer. I am in my early 60's, so I have fine lines and texture. Thank you for your help!
Extremely helpful! Thanks Nikki and also did you ever consider buying makeup brush cleaner? I thought makeup artist would be using those it makes the work faster🥹
I struggle so much with concealer, I feel like no matter what I do it always ends up looking so dry and settles into my fine lines I'm really contemplating just signing up for somr makeup classes at this point bc there has to be something I'm doing wrong
Thank you for this video, Nikki. Talking about setting powder, what do you think about the Givenchy Prisme Libre vs Guerlain Metorites for combo skin?.. Would you say that last to be a setting powder or more like a finishing one?
I'm 36 and have some under eye wrinkles that no amount of hydration can fix. It seems like any amout of powder always just make my concealer dry out and enhance the wrinkles. Would skipping the powder and using setting spray instead help? Sometimes I think no concealer at all would look better than trying to use it.
My go to under eye powder is the Charlotte Tilbury flawless finish powder - it’s pressed, as you know. Does that still work as a long lasting setting powder for under eyes?
Yes! Do. Not. Pull! It will create crepey skin in the long run and you’ll regret it. I’m 45 and my skin is still tight there because I’ve treated that area gently forever!
What should I do if I have under eye wrinkles? I’m not talking about wrinkles just showing up when I smile or laugh but legitimate under eye wrinkles that are always there. In case you are wondering I do clean and moisturize my skin daily. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I cannot use the Kosas under my eyes, anywhere else, yes, but under my eyes, it looks too cakey and dry. The One/Size loose powder is okay for under my eyes. I have dry skin.
When putton makeup primer, would I apply it all the way up under. My eyes? If not, what serum should I use instead? Trying to get the best prime/concealer /powder. Combo that won't accentuate fine lines.
Hi Nikki, have another question! I usually do my make up in the morning and always calculate in the drying time of my sunscreen. Do you put the serum on top over your Sunscreen?
Hi Nikki thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial. I had been using the Wayne Goss technique of applying multiple layers of eye cream, so I appreciate your tip about just using a serum. I typically use the Pat McGrath under eye setting powder and a damp sponge. What do you think of this powder and this technique? Thank you!
If I had to pick a concealer shade from Haus labs and I currently use Sigma Duo corrector only in shade light with CT flawless in fair what shade should I pick ? Please help I think I am light not fair skinned and maybe neutral undertones. Just ordered the maelove Thanks
