Saying the "notched" attachment of the low speed would have been helpful for the first tray. I am also wondering are your diamond and carbide finishing burs reusable or disposable or do you put disposable ones in the tray and toss them from the tray after use?

These are reusable - but they are only used for training DAs. The offices I see that are using disposable (individually packaged) keep the burs in the original pack until ready to use.

New student here graduating in the spring! Will you do a video telling how to know when doctor is ready for the next step? Been doing lots of clinic days and I get so worked up in my brain that I don’t have things ready to pass :(

A lot of it comes down to knowing the procedure forwards and backwards. That will take time! You will begin to notice things are done in the exact same order nearly every time. Look for small signals the doctor gives to indicate they are ready for a new instrument. My doctor gave a very subtle tilt of his hand to indicate he wanted me to take his instrument away and pass the next one.

How to sterilize the burs?🙂
@StephanieDerfus
@StephanieDerfus 3 года назад
Many offices have multiple bur blocks so you can process the entire set together. The entire bur block can go in the ultrasonic to remove debris, then rinse with water, air dry (if the burs are carbide now is the time to use a rust inhibitor), package, then sterilize in your steam sterilizer.
