@Jason Ang Once you have bought an item, you want to sell the item for as much ISK as you think you can get from it. If the maximum amount of ISK you think you can get from the item means that you'll lose ISK on the trade overall, you should still sell the item rather than holding onto it. So what you are doing is looking for the maximum sell price, you forget about the price you bought it for. That's why buy price doesn't matter. Looking for items with 50% profit is about lowering the risk of making a loss on a trade. That applies before you buy the item.
