13:14 - Again, this is where I would use the Spanish to help me, especially in the sentence, "I like to read". In Spanish it would be, "Me gusta leer"; or "Reading is pleasing to me". How fun!!! Thanks again, Profe!

I am a native french speaker (I wandered on this channel kinda by accident but i do like it) and i am so used to translating from french to english that i actually made a mistake on the first one. To me "I am 25" and "j'ai 25 ans" are the exact same words at this point. I think this kind of content does help learning french tho so great job

French is my fun language because I borrow a lot of vocabulary from English; however, I almost always translate out of Spanish because the grammar is much, much closer!

Hello Alexa, your videos are great for those of us trying to learn French. I have a question. in couple of your vids you explained how "je sais" is shortened to "sheh" that is clear, I can hear it more and more. Now I am watching the movie Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis and I think I heard one of the characters say Non, je ne suis pas occupé. but it sounded like "non, sheh pas occupé" is this just my ears? And one last thing, I thought that "chez" was only used for people: chez moi, etc. Thanks in adavance.

Ooh cz I didn't know the rendre visiter one! Learned something. At 3.00 I was surprised that you hadn't sounded the S for ' ... Je vais a là ... '. I thought you were always supposed to sound the S before a vowel; is the S only sounded before a vowel in certain contexts then?? Nice and clear explanations on all the different points; thank you!

Merci pour cette vidéo, il y a quelques erreures tipiques d'elèves dont sa première langue est anglais, mais d'autres pas si logiques pour moi (mes langues maternelles sont le catalan et l'espangol) comme 'rendre visite', 'aller chez', 'poser une question', 'être rapide' ou 'passer un examen'.

Alexa, this is invaluable. Thank you. I have a question: I've seen chaud and froid used as adjectives for objects, using être instead of avoir; for example, le verre est froid. Is this correct?
