Speaking of Sprite, Common did a series of sprite commercials with Mack 10, Fat Joe, Goodie Mob, and Afrika Bambaataa in the 90s

If you wanna be technical , up until recently The Golden Era was always considered to be from 88-92

I agree, but I'd stretch it to about 95-96.

Actually, it started in 86, when Eric B and Rakim dropped "Eric B for President."

The only thing I don't miss from '93 to '96 is rappers rapping about smoking blunts drinking 40z and keeping it real but either then that the early to mid '90s had some of the best rap albums in hip-hop history

Now these days rappers just rapping bout Lean and doing drills

@@Justkooling91 good point but back then for those few years that was the popular topics so it makes me laugh when these younger people talk about the '90s like it was all lyrical miracle they had that but with in that there was a lot of Barz about rolling blunts and drinking 40z 😂

People always gave Common credit for being sharper than he actually was. He always dropped banal takes and was never all that well spoken. Not hating on him or saying it was his fault or intent to be seen as more than he was, but I worked for the label he was in and witnessed his rise as a teen and I always marveled at how he had this image that wasn't necessarily congruent with who he was.
