What are some other common keywords for Task 2? What do you think are their 'close' and 'loose' synonyms?

It's hard to find synonyms for the word 'people'... There are individuals, folks, citizens, residents, some, many, etc... But, as a foreign learner, it is hard for me to understand whether they're 'close' or 'loose'...

Really appreciate how you don't beat around the bush like other IELTS teachers on RU-vid. Others just want to lure the viewers into buying their courses without giving them a reason to trust their teaching style whereas you're selfless and lead by example. Every video of yours contains such valuable yet simple information. Straight to the point. That's the only reason I keep coming back to your videos whenever I have to renew my IELTS score. Your lessons helped me score 7.5 in writing 2 years ago. Hoping to score 8 - maybe even more, who knows - this time. Thank you very much, Chris!!

@@Ieltsadvantage According to my knowledge, the loose synonyms that are frequently mistaken for "teacher" are "mentor, trainer, coach" and the close ones are "pedagogue, educator, schoolmaster/schoolmistress", though I am rather cynical about the validity of the final 2 words due to them sounding a little bit overly academic.

Dear Mr. Chris, I want to express my gratitude for your excellent IELTS English lessons on RU-vid. Your dedication to helping learners like me is truly appreciated. I noticed a small typo in this video. The word "nowadays" was spelled as "nowsadys." I thought I'd mention that this particular spelling isn't listed in the Cambridge Dictionary. I believe it's just a minor oversight, and I appreciate your understanding in this regard. Your commitment to accuracy greatly contributes to the effectiveness of your teachings. @@Ieltsadvantage Yes. It makes absolutely no sense to punish test takers for using "loose" synonyms. They are already stressed and only have an hour to complete 2 extremely synthetic essays. I've lived in the UK for almost 3 years now and I haven't met a native speaker who would achieve more than band 5 without extensive preparation. I am not even talking about the general population, I mean educated professionals with university degrees. There is no reason to expect non native speakers to outperform natives to this level. Band 4-5 seems like a completely sufficient level to study and work in an english speaking country, yet for some reason foreigners are asked to write specific essays where you deduct points for nonsense. The whole writing part in the format it is now gives zero information about the student's ability to use English.

Are you using ‘bullying’ as a loose synonym of a more appropriate word? If so, please be more precise. Precision helps communication.

@@Ieltsadvantage Good trolling, not gonna lie 😂 No, I mean bullying as defined in Oxford dictionary. Using power to hurt weaker people. And I am completely sure it absolutely has nothing to do with the fact that the exam fee is over £200 per attempt and it's impossible to only retake a part of the test.

@@Ieltsadvantage I also noticed you dodged the main part of my comment 🤔 I wonder whether it's because you have no refutation
