Thanks sir a wonderful session Few Notes for my learning : Listening is a mental activity that involves reception, selection, organization, assimilation, interpretation, evaluation & response . Good Listing is an active, integrated communication skill that demands energy. It purposeful, powerful & productive “ Good communication is good Listening”. Active listening is whole body listening which involves a person’s Eyes : focused ,Ears : Listen carefully , Brain : receptive , Mouth : must be shut , Hands & Feet : Still , Heart : Compassionate Example : The whole body is slightly inclined towards the speaker to show interest & empathy, the speaker must feel that he/she is given a careful thoughtful attention & consideration . Active Listener must be courteous , considerate, should not interrupt, pay full attention, stay focused & must ask question at last in case of any doubt . Active Listener must conclude by thanking the speaker & showing your appreciation , Listener must make the speaker leave with a good feeling. “ When you talk you are only repeating what you already know . But if you listen, you may learn something new”.
