Aber Valley FC are a great example of a club who have connected with their community since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Their valley suffered as badly as any part of Wales, in terms of job losses and they were in the Caerphilly Borough, which was locked down for longer than any other local authority in Wales.
But during that time, a group of hero volunteers emerged out of the valley’s football club to provide hope to struggling families in the form of a boot room and a food bank that ensure no child goes without in their tight-knit community.
Each week donations continue to be received and players from the senior team give up their free time to sort and deliver the parcels to deliver to those in need in their community.
As well as coaching their teams, all the Aber Valley coaches, from under 5 to senior, give up their time to provide an amazing service to those in need in their community.
Mae Clwb Pêl Droed Aber Valley yn enghraifft wych o glwb sydd wedi ffurfio cyswllt cadarn â’i gymuned ers dechrau pandemig Covid-19.
Dioddefodd y cwm cyn waethed ag unrhyw ran o Gymru, o ran colli swyddi ac roeddent ym Mwrdeistref Caerffili, a oedd dan glo am gyfnod hirach nag unrhyw awdurdod lleol arall yng Nghymru.
Ond yn ystod yr amser hwnnw, bu grŵp o wirfoddolwyr arwrol o glwb pêl-droed y cwm yn rhoi gobaith i deuluoedd oedd yn ei chael yn anodd, ar ffurf ystafell gefnogi a banc bwyd i sicrhau nad oedd unrhyw blentyn yn mynd heb ddim yn y gymuned glos yma.
Bob wythnos mae cyfraniadau’n parhau i gael eu derbyn ac mae’r chwaraewyr o’r tîm hŷn yn rhoi o’u hamser rhydd i ddidoli a dosbarthu’r parseli i’r rhai mewn angen yn eu cymuned.
Yn ogystal â hyfforddi eu timau, mae holl hyfforddwyr Aber Valley, o dan 5 i lefel hŷn, yn rhoi o’u hamser i ddarparu gwasanaeth anhygoel i’r rhai mewn angen yn eu cymuned.
