Update: The gofundme is now at almost $25,000. Strangers shouldn't have to raise money for this man--his employer should've been paying him a living wage for the 15 years Mr Eubanks has worked for them, so he could put money aside each month for retirement. But bless every person who chipped in to help Mr Eubanks. I hope he's able to slow down a bit, & that his back is ok.

I saw the same where I used to work. Nobody saving for retirement. I convinced some to start saving. I was scared into saving for retirement by the old-timers who didn't.

Many people have jobs that only pay enough for them to handle their basic necessities. They dont make enough to save. If he has worked at mcdonalds for decades, or even his whole life, he wouldnt have the chance to save.

It’s the compassionate thing to do. He might have worked minimum wage jobs all of his life or maybe he got sick and was wiped out financially by medical debt. Anything can happen these days and the government sure won’t help vulnerable seniors!
