Great video, and excellent reasoning. But level headed reasoning doesn't come into play here. Fujifilm has brought back the excitement in the digital camera space with general consumers, non photography enthusiasts, that's just incredible. I'm hoping we see plenty more premium fixed lens cameras emerge over the next few years from all the main camera manufacturers.
The more people excited about photography the better! So no complaints from me there! And even though I think the Sony is all around better, the Fuji is still an amazing setup!
I think you'd be remiss to forget to mention that the Fujifilm X100VI uses a leaf shutter and has built a 4-Stop ND. Maybe small value adds to most folks, but still worthwhile features and advantages to the X100VI that was completely ignored by the presenter. Leaf Shutter allows you to shoot silently as well as sync a flash at any shutter speed and the built in 4-Stop ND filter has a ton of utility.
Definitely should have mentioned that! I don't really think a ton of people are using the x100 with off camera flash, but for those instances, the ND and leaf shutter are definitely big things to have!
Apples and oranges comparison here. They are not even comparative when the Sony has interchangeable lenses. I can put the X100V in my pants pocket when shooting weddings. I use it for casual reception shots with Acros G sim.
@@JasonVinson183 pants pocket is a stretch, but it'll definitely fit in most jacket pockets. Which i do often-- i had a smaller xt20 camera previously, but the lens pretruding make it impossible to fit in most jackets. So i understand his apple to orange comparison.
Comparing a fixed lens camera at 1599.00 to a non fixed lens camera at 2999.00 ?? Once you buy a decent lens for the Sony, you're looking at 3300-3500 dollars. I noticed you didn't even mention that the Fuji X100VI comes with a built in ND filter which is huge for photo and video. You can assign it to a custom button as well. Not to mention the Fuji has a built in flash and a massive community creating recipes that tweak the simulations. Lastly, not everyone wants to go buy Lightroom and get involved with Adobe's subscription nonsense . A lot of people just want SOOC jpegs that they can send to their phone and post. I'd say if you want to make a closer comparison, it would be an A6700 with a pancake lens.
I did mention the ability to get in camera profiles on the Sony for people that want that out of camera ability. And there are a ton of free or cheap options for editing raw files. So doesn't have to be Adobe. And this is a compact camera comparison, not a fixed lens comparison. But there a ton of people comparing the leica q3 to the Fuji and that's double the price of even the Sony.
I agree with your assessment of both cameras and why Sony is a better one for sure. However, the price difference between both cameras is too high and is not well addressed at the end of your video. Current prices for the Sony and a pancake (zeiss 35 2.8) is about USD $ 3500, whereas the fuji is USD $1599 (at the time of my comment).
Eh disagree. I find the Fuji way more clunky and slow. But if it feels like magic for you then absolutely use it! I agree it's still an amazing camera! I just think the Sony is better.
@@JasonVinson183 yes i also said that the Sony is better in image qualitiy..but the Fuji is fun to use. The Sony is boring to use with better results.-but as mentioned the Fuji shines in having fun
A ridiculous comparison! Sony A7CR is $2999 and you still need to buy a lens to make it usable. X100VI is $1599. Maybe a better comparison would have been A7CII but even A7CII is at a different price point.
Does anyone else find it hard to take this seriously when they set the camera up, and thought “yeah this jumble of lights looks great”….. For real though, what is the point of comparing these when one is twice the size, weight, and price? You also only have one of them, so don’t really even know what you are talking about…. 😂
In what world is 100 grams and few millimeters double the size and weight? And I have enough hands on experience with it to form an opinion. And I liked my lighting setup for this 🤷
Getting technical is fine, so... First we calculate the weight difference: 635 grams (Sony with lens) - 521 grams (Fuji with lens) = 114 grams The we calculate the percentage difference: (Weight difference / Fuji weight) * 100% = (114 / 521) * 100% ≈ 21.88% So, the Sony camera is actually 21.88% heavier than the Fuji
@@JasonVinson183 according to my calculations the Sony 35mm f2 is 325g. The body is 515g so total weight is 840g. When I say twice the size, I refer to how big the body and lens is…..
