fun fact: youtube compression is 192kbps and you can't hear difference between 192kbps, 256kbps and 320kbps

Funfact: youtube use Opus 192kbps and it's better than 256kbps mp3 * Edit: The maximum bitrate for RU-vid videos is 192kbps, it's quite good actually. While RU-vid uses AAC, it typically employs Opus for now. And if you use RU-vid Music it's up to 256kbps . Additional info: Not many people can hear the difference with audio files with bitrate higher than 192kbps. So using 192kbps is the most suitable and saves network bandwidth

RU-vid audio doesn't go higher than 192 kbps but as far as I know 128 is hard to tell apart from the above unless you're actually able to hear the slight difference which I'm sure there is. Thanks anyway cause now I save space when downloading something instead of getting the full 320 kbps file which is usually around 10 mb or more.

RU-vid soporta como máximo 256kbps. por lo que no se puede apreciar el 320kbps RU-vid supports a máximum of 256kbps. so you can not appreciate the 320kbps

@@juannegretenegrete8979 Cualquier video solo puede llegar a 160 Kbps, por que es lo que reproduce RU-vid en todos los videos, incluso los videos oficiales en canales de artistas, por eso es que si tu bajas una canción desde youtube en aplicaciones como snaptube lo único que podrás descargar es un archivo de 160kbps.

@@itzxerox3281 gracias amigo esa era una duda porque empeze a bajar canciones de la apk aids y supuestamente son audios flac y los he checado con spek y si llegan a los 22 khz pero los comparo escuchando con los de youtuve y creo o alo mejor me lo imagino .los de youtuve tienen un poquititin mas de bajo. Sera que entre menos khz se escucha mas los sonidos del bajo?

Why do we still compress audio that much today? It is not 1998 anymore. 3tb hard drives are really cheap. You can put 54 000 wav files that have a duration of 5 mins on formated 3 tb hard drive..,

Same problem with LED lighting: If a technology becomes so good, we start overusing it so it starts hitting its limits again. Also not everyone has archiving in mind. If you are streaming, lossy stuff is fine. If you care about your music you go lossless anyway. Wav is pretty inefficient, tho. Its better to at least choose lossless compression.

The "kbp/s" is incorrect. The P stands for "per" which has the same meaning as the slash. So it should be "kbps" or "kb/s" I've seen "p" being used instead of "/" only in English so far.
