The 100 is a lot of amp for home use, 50 EX is plenty loud! but you do get the FX loop on the 100 so that's something to consider

absolutely could hear the difference, we found the EX had a more focused and present sound, which definitely aligns with what Boss later published on their website: "Katana-50 EX Gen 3 features an upgraded speaker for increased projection and resonance on stage."

@@MannysMusic_Online Thanks for the reply that's awseome. But i think it's strange that it's the same wattage and label on the back of the speaker . The only difference i see is the color.

​​​there's zero that's strange about that. It's an upgraded speaker. That's how that works. They take the old speaker and upgrade it. It happens all the time at businesses that sell products. Take auto parts for example. They CONSTANTLY update their parts and don't change anything about it visually. It means nothing if they look the same. Are you just now being allowed on the internet and being allowed to buy stuff yourself? This is common knowledge that anyone knows, except you apparently. 🤦 Seems like you don't have the capability to be logical, either. Or you'd understand what they did and why. There's no reason to change everything about the speaker just because it was updated/upgraded internally. Or even if they upgraded the cone and baffle, etc... That does nothing but make the thing even more expensive and that isn't conducive to selling a lot of them. It flies in the face of logic to make it overly expensive. There's no need to change everything about the speaker. Especially when it's still the same model, it's just been updated/upgraded.

I have the Airstep Kat but the Katana 50 Gen 3 does not have the usb B like the KAtana 50 MKII

Hi mate, just had a look in the manual, it's on page 7. Hold down the CH2 and Panel buttons and turn both amps on, run cable from Line Out on amp 1 to Power Amp on amp 2. Have fun! 🤙

The Katana Go app is free and compatible with both iPhone and Android, but you do need to buy the Boss Bluetooth dongle for the amp.

50 EX is a step up from the normal 50 MKIII it allows a better speaker and additional features and is also compatible with the boss GAC channel pedal the normal 50 Gen 3 is not.
